Morning Sir,

Great to see that last post! Kinda reiterates why we have stopped gambling! Time with a loved one money to do it, and able to concentrate on the evenings events 100% attention! I can imagine Mr Boyle being highly amusing, I think sometimes the most controversial subjects can be the funniest you just need the bottle to go up there and talk about them! Anyway I talk too much!

Have a great day,

Flagg

DMac,

Great post. That seems like a fantastic night. I've been to see a few live comics and nothing beats it when they are on their game. Just don't sit down the front. Without judging others I sometimes see that people are defeating the one thing that threatened their future happiness yet don't seem happy in themselves whereas you are defeating the gambling demons and celebrate this victory everyday with your enthusiasm and a great big smile. I try to do the same. Why not our lives are the polar opposite of how they were a short time ago and as long as this is the case we should enjoy life to the full.

Your posts always make me smile.

Tomso.

morning diary.

24 weeks today since I had a punt and once again I thank my gamcare family for helping me reach this point, looking back at my first post today when my addiction was telling me to get out there and punt ,as for sure I would win it all back and more. that day I went to my second Ga meeting and started to realise that there is a life to be had outside the gamble.so I tuned in to the programme binned my famous "gambling googles" and have been walking forward changing my outlook on life hugely on the way. Today I feel like I have found my true self,or more to the point a person I am happy to share a skin with.the clean shaved face I look at in the morning i see is one I am comfortable with. I have been overwhelmed by the support my long suffering wife Sarah has given and it seems our life has embarked upon a new lease of love, were we share more and it feels alot like we have been through the courting stage and next year our 21st together I hope we will celabrate in style. Our 3 kids, well one man and 2 teenagers have embraced my recovery and there is nothing they dont know and I am sure it will help them through there lives to have an understanding of how devestating addiction can be. So today in the spirit of those words which still inspire me today from my first page written by Smiler "be kind to yourself" I am and fittingly going to celabrate by purchasing a tv for us all to share many more family nights in front of.

To end diary you and all who post on my diary your own keep making those entries keep inspiring and most of all keep just for today making that choice. "NO BET TODAY". and from this tomorrow will dawn a day in which you can celabrate that success of it and be more resiliant in your quest to "LIVE" a gamble free life.

Duncs with honesty, humility and most of all much merryment stepping forward never back.

evening diary. Well this rain is doing trade no good at all today was a wash out, so home to knock out more menus for the future, i really can see a future in things today, something that to be honest whilst at it i simply could not. Used to live for a day at a time no more always expecting it all to come crashing down like a house of cards, today those bricks get higher and higher i feel like i have a fortress surrounding me and it will stay that way. So no bet today, the only worry in my life is the fact that i could do with my front room being twelve foot longer as our new tv is too big! It is like sitting in the cinema! Lol. So no bet today just for today, tomorrow i hope the rain abates and customers return! And another wedding saturday so i feel for them. Duncs stepping forward never back.

Hey,

Gotta love that fortress! Starting to feel like that demon is going to have to bang pretty hard just to chip at the fortress let alone get in! That's a great feeling! I just wrote to a relatively new member he can stop if he is determined and smart about recovery! Put the correct measures in place and build that fortress! I think you are one of the leading lights in fortress building and I respect you a great deal for that!

afternoon diary.

Well shiny left the tap on again down here in the south LOL. I today folks got up to bright sunshine took my hound for a paddle ( standing water from yesterdays 3 months of rain in an hr) then left on my bike in shorts and a t-shirt tonight I will look daft!!!

as it is monsoon weather again. I went to see my fishmonger this morning and said i expect to see him trawling the high street any day!!!!!!

Today I had all my menus accepted so feel really good and to boot shiny your wellington made it!!!LOL although a chicken one. No intentions of gambling and when i popped into the shop earlier i did cringe at the TEN quid a go scratch card!!!!

amazing how they get away with de-valuing a ten pound note so easily but i left it that there must be a market for it certainly not from me!!!!

going to catch up with GA tomorrow as having a coffee with one of my fellowship, 6 weeks since i attended but have a coffee once a week with one of two guys who attend my fellowship, so i get my own session in a way sort of one to one which is helping with pushing on through the twelve steps.I wish there was an afternoon meeting really it would be easier for me to attend but as i say i am again making the best of my situation. So i hope this rain will ease again, and on monday my eldest is as part of the oylimpic torch relay reading a poem he wrote out at fratton park so another proud moment on the way, hope you are all well and our barge is still afloat.

have a good eve and hope the rain held off so you can get those bums (soggy) on seats and turnover those covers....(ex waitress...)..is that still the lingo?

morning diary. Struck me this morning that i dont have a face book account(is it an account page? Lol) or a twitter or any other social network thing in my life never had the need, i have an email use it for work and my mum sends the odd email. To end i have never had an intrest in computers at all:) and i thought a smart phone was about the way it looks lol. Today i have gamcare! Which to anyone on the outside looking in would prob right off as a site for desperate people to get a fix, well how wrong they would be. This forum faceless as it is, has more compassion and drive than anything i know. It overwhelms me daily and does help me no end in my quest to live a life a gamble free one. So today another cloudy, wet summers day me i celebrate inside! Thankyou one and all for being here. Together we do stand! Our forum bathed in light. Duncs stepping forward never back.

hiya Duncs.......lying in bed as day off.....

just got me singiing....Fools in Love...Love mr J and also now need to sing.."Is she really going out with him!"

Am glad my posts no longer read as barmy old cack..big LOL....just kidding....Yes...know thyself as they say and I do talk in real life exactly as I do on here if subjects come up...so thank you for making me feel I am doing something to maybe make people feel less alone ....

I was raised in a victorian boot camp so to be able to talk this way I have learned to literally speak a new language....my folks would say "shut up and just get on with it" ...lol...

That may be the end result.. but needed to do the processing bit in the middle before i could get on with it...

Well my cyber friend...nearly the weekend and for me that means seeing my man.Am determined not to be a t*t and self sabotage and my post is a reminder to myself why I do this ...

Have a super day hun ..that Sarah is also a lucky lady to have you ...

Everybody from the top.....

"Duuuuuncs....Steppin out....into the light into the light"....

Yo,

My fav chef , got to sack one this week 🙁 oh joy of joys not

Anyhow Olympics soon, thank you for your post, I do not feel inspiring and I am sure you don't. Although you would recieve the gold medal if there was one .

, the gamcare gold medal.

Your positivity , your support of others , your devotion to your job and your family . To me you are the whole

package. In the couple of years I have been on this site , people have bits and pieces. They give tremendous support, or they are really positive. One bad day you have had in all these weeks.

So those are my reasons not 101 but the ones that matter that in my book makes me want to give gold !

So let's both keep on keeping on , with those great people on this site , cause I truly believe that we are all making a difference .

Shiny xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
