Hi Duncan

Massive congratulations on the year without a doubt in my eyes the most inspirational diary on here , u av earned it so much and it just shows what can be done when the belief is there

U dont need me to tell what an amazing wife and family u av which gambling so nearly took from u , how u came back from the jaws of defeat took life by the balls and fought with everything u av and the results are there for everyone to see

Anyone who thinks they av no hope and no way out should think again reading ur diary would inspire anyone ur the example of what we are all looking for that better life

U did it all by making the right choices today is a proud day for u but not just u and ur family but for everyone connected to this site the hope it gives to people is just amazing

Evening diary.

Thankyou all for your words of praise. I feel truly humbled reading them. To add i am inspired so much to continue this streak i am on.

It was nice to receive a special couple of emails too.

Many of you know i have contact with a very special former member of this forum, we exchange mail and he inspires me greatly to enhance my life through recovery. Well the honourable Mr.i.b sent me some lovely words and also forwarded some kind words from the shiny one. So my day was one of great reflection and inspiration.

The curries went down a storm and i treated myself to a pint of the black stuff, my first since new years day. A real treat.

Sarah says thanks for the kind words, she may add posts from time to time, as and when she feels it appropriate.

I went back to work today, spent the most of it cleaning!!

So worn out and going to catch some sleep.

I will catch up with you all later this week.

No bet today, no time for it.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Dear Duncan

Thank you for post. I am truly grateful for your support.

May I congratulate you on your journey so far. I have spent some time reading your diary and can see what an amazing turnaround you have made. I can only hope to emulate you. You have reminded me of a line from one of my favourite poems:

"He staid not for brake and he stopped not for stone!"

I think this sums up your journey.

I can also see how much time you have spent supporting others on here. You clearly a credit to this forum and truly deserve your success.

Duncs,

You're a true inspiration. Congratulations on completing a year of life. Hopefully I'll see you in the real world one day soon if I keep the beast at bay. So far so good my end.

It was fantastic to read your wife's post here and to read things are going great for you. She sounds like a wonderful woman. I can't even begin to imagine the joy you experienced that day with your family, and reading those emails you received. Not to mention the joy you gave others with what I'm sure was some delightful cooking.

Keep up the fantastic work buddy and thank you for your support.

DMac,

What a man. Nobody deserves this more than you. I have followed your journey almost from the start and it has been a real pleasure. Your wife's post gave me goosebumps and I still can't stop smiling while I sit here typing this message. Probably less than one percent of the population properly commit themselves to their goal and through hard work, absolute determination and never ending desire come out the other side with everything that they wanted at the start. You could achieve anything you set your mind to in my opinion. In all honesty, my time with this forum has taught me a lot but I haven't been moved in the way I was tonight when I read your wife's post. May all the happiness in the world be with you because no-one deserves it the way that you do.

Tomso.

Evening diary.

Well enjoying being back at work, then the boss text me tonight, did i catch the forecast?? Either much more snow or flood type rain!!!!!

So i am bringing the gamcare barge out of the dry dock!!!

Enough now!! Lol i really don't want any more rain or worse snow, as stated this country is truly laughable in snow.

We must look ridiculous to countries who have real snow!!

Still our bathroom is all but finished, just need a shower screen fitted and Sarah to add the feminine touches, yes the ones us fellas love lol.

Potions lotions and creams lol.

What ever happened to imperial leather!????? Lol.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Start the haggis run tomorrow!! Weather permitting!!

Evening diary.

Had a great day today, my boss paid me in full despite having last week off sick, what a decent fella he said i earnt it no questions, he has the utmost respect for me and is pleased with my efforts. He also said we will sit down next week and review my salary.

The library phoned my i rankin book i reserved was in so i picked it up, i have read all his work and can't wait to get stuck into this one as Di rebus is back!! I have them all on a bookshelf but won't pay full price, always find them in the charity shop. So will read this one and purchase a copy to keep at a later date.

Busy night at work and it went well

I love haggis and its ode !!!

No gambling no time for it.

Oh and i enjoyed the tennis this morning, great match.

Sorry I'm a day late, I had half an eye on your anniversary but I didn't go online yesterday.

Many congratulations on joining the one year club. It's quite an achievement for any of us CG to go such a chunk of time without a flutter. I really do wish you all the best.

Hi Dunc's... you see thats what decent bosses do.. they recognise decent staff and treat them proeprly and respectfully. At my place if you have just "one" sick day you find yourself sitting in a "back to work interview" and you can be rest assured that the docking of that days pay will NOT be overlooked. O well musn't grumble. Onwards... S.A 🙂
