Hi Kate

Just want to re-iterate what a fantastic job you are doing, both for yourself and others. You have come a long way in a short time and demonstrate how much you have learned.

Often you are the 'anchor' of chat, offering advice and ensuring that all in the room feel included and part of the dialogue and free to listen or contribute as they need to do. You are also very empathic to others situations, those which are gambling related and just general life related as well.

Kinda feel like I'm writing a performance appraisal for someone at work but you merit the applause 🙂

Well done

Captain

Hit week 18 yesterday, they are flying by but enjoying seeing them add up nicely. Been able to do some work in the house with the money I've saved from not gambling. Its surprising how when where gambling we just won't spend the money needed to redecorate ect because its like its to much but sit there endlessly depositing till we have no funds left, bizarre!

Hi Kate, thanks for mentioning Virgil. I’d seen it advertised, but forgot it was on, I’ll definitely record it.

Well done on 18 weeks! I totally agree with everything Captain said to you. I’ve seen you in chat and you really are inspiring to newbies, and to everyone! Maybe sometime in the future you could consider a role somewhere on the forum, you’d be great.

Keep up the good work,

Tizzy xxx

Cant wait to watch more! It was much better than I imagined.

Hace a lovely weekend,

Hi Kate,

Thanks for the lovely message you posted on my diary. It was really nice ❤️

You’re totally right with the way you think now. I’m so glad you’ve managed to kick your addiction in the teeth and it’s lovely to see your optimism! And good on you for still joining in chat. I think it is very easy to become complacent. I’ve read sooooooo many stories of people who have stopped gambling for weeks, months or even years then something happens in their lives and they think they’ll just have a “little” go. Sadly they end up back at square one. There’s no such thing as a “little go” for a CG! Just remember that and stay focused on your journey. You really are an inspiration to many.

Take care Kate,

Tizzy xxx

*edited to PS* really enjoying Vigil, but can’t get Captain to give it a try. X

140day, thats 20 weeks gamble free ?

Gambling doesnt really enter my mind anymore, strange when it was part of my daily routine for 12 years. Enjoying it though, just wish I had done it all those years ago, never heard of this site till April which is shame it took so long but I'm so glad i found it.

Started a diet class last Friday,  so first weigh-in is in the morning. Hopefully i can stick to the diet as long as I have gamble free. I may starting lossing excess lbs but gaining £ from not gambling

Hi Kate

Well done on 140 days.

Just want to pick up on the topic of you not thinking about gambling ( which is great for you ), versus someone like me who still wants to gamble every day.

Given you gambled for 12 years I suspect it’s not about the amount of time, despite  my gambling running for 40 years.

I think maybe about interest in the subject matter i.e. my interest in sport remains although not gambling on it, and the vast majority of people who watch or participate in sport are not linked to gambling whatsoever, whereas someone who gambled on slots wouldn’t have an interest because it’s 100% an activity about gambling. Maybe would only think about it based on advertising or hearing a friend or family member talking about having done slots gambling recently.

Interested in your thoughts.

Hi Kate

Hope the slots dreams don’t persist but even if they do I know you are strong enough to resist any urges.

Always happy to eat cake but I can’t give you a date in October, I was in a bad way at that point last year so I couldn’t tell you on which specific day this period started ?

You and Tizzy are doing your best to entice me to Vigil but the whole submarine setting thing doesn’t appeal. I’ll keep looking for other new dramas ?

Speak soon

Captain

147 days from when I became free again.

Not been as active on chat the past week, been really busy at work and working extra in the evenings.

Myself and hubby have been arguing about money alot lately. I don't think it helps being a compulsive gambler I have issues where I justify what is spendable. I'm sure it will take a while to undo what has been instilled in me for so long. Last nights row was because he wanted to use the card, I don't let him have full reigns because he would burn a hole in his pocket. But deep down I know the other half is because I used to be scared of him knowing the real deal when I was gambling and seeing empty banks. Isnt it funny im here saying he burns holes in his pocket but yet I did this secretly online for 12 years. What a hypocrite I am.
