Day 184
184 consecutive one day at a times with no betting, no lying and a purpose every day
I love recovery and if you put the work in you take the reward out in feeling peace.
Today we paid the deposit for our new home to rent. Signed the contract on our side so it's fingers crossed that we have avoided being homeless.
Spent my 184th day in recovery present ! Went to see my parents this morning and had a beautiful chat with them. Came home and looked after my son. Went to the 8pm chatroom which was good but was distracted by the Chinese that my daughter had cooked, apologies. Then went to GA online which is my 55th daily meeting out of 90 so getting closer now
My milestone target from the start of this journey was 200 days and now it's in sight. No pressure as it's always been one day at a time.
Trying to learn acceptance at the moment as per the serenity prayer I hold so dear to my heart. Not just learn but action.

Day 185 gamble free
How different Saturdays look now to six months and change before. Just calm. No looking at results. I take a glance at the football results although there weren't many today. Don't think if I would have bet on the result. Not looked at a horse racing results in 185 days, saw one by mistake on BBC at Xmas but that wasn't my fault and made no difference. Been in a few pubs and although I haven't played a machine for 15 years they don't affect me. Walk past bookies with no sense of them meaning anything to me. Still get emails from dodgy sites, simply delete them. Unfortunately Gamban stops me from unsubscribing to them but they wouldn't stop anyway.
So I took my daughter to the shops to fix her new iPhone. It's actually a town I always used to lose money online but didn't even think of that. Spent a lovely couple of hours with her. Back home after food shop.
8pm chatroom was quiet but I guess everyone was having a BBQ
Then went to GA LA Intl online which is my meeting 56 out of the 90 in 90 days. Good meeting as always.

Day 186 Gamble Free
Another great day gamble free but what day isn't ?
No chaos, no lies, no borrowing, no angst.
Plenty of being present, joy, being with my amaInf family. Even enjoyed a tip run.
How did I spend so long as a slave to my addiction when such a beautiful world was in front of me.
It costs nothing other than work every day.
Went to the chatroom tonight which was really good followed by GA online. Meeting number 56 if 90. Meeting sponsor tomorrow to finish off Step 5 and then GA tomorrow evening.

Hi Diary
Never written a diary in my first 56 years and yet now it's so dear to me and the only record of my recovery.
Another good day today. Nearly finished the packing for the move apart from all the stuff needed for the next week and change. GA tonight which was such a powerful room. Waiting now for the Modern Meeting online at 1am which is always amazing.
Been a lot of reflecting over the last week, probably down to my over thinking and doing step 5 in GA. Will probably share a bit more on that this week at some point on here so I have it to read back.
Day 188 gamble free
What a great day !!!!
Went to the modern meeting in the early hours of the morning and it was just off the charts. So powerful and I got so much out of it.
Took my other half to see the new house we are renting and she was over the moon. Due to desperation and work she hadn't seen it.
Ran some errands
Nearly finished step 5 with my sponsor and then my local GA meeting which was really good and well supported.
Plenty of time talking to my partner and daughter today. Wouldn't change my life now for the world . Not sure why it took me so long to be so broken to crawl into recovery but love this space
Day 189 gamble free
Even better day today. Got offered a refund from an operator as they didn't enforce a monthly loss limit in the background. Still as usual ignored red flags but that's another story for another day in front of a TV camera one day.
Lovely family day. Lots of good calls with friends in addiction to offer a bit of support. Chatroom tonight and GA online at 9 which was good.
Best of all, no gambling today. Sleep, wake, repeat
Day 190 gamble free
Bit of a mixed day, not going into it but just a few tests today to knock me off my stride.
Family day most of today through to 5pm. Rang sponsor and went to zoom on Evive hosted by Sam which was really good. Subject was isolation. Met up with a GA friend for a bite to eat and then went to GA before driving back home. Bored of the heat and could really do with some sleep. Lack of positivity today

Absolutely and just nine days to go to my first big goal of 200 days. A week on Sunday and will certainly be on the chatroom that night

Belated post as I got stuck into watching the Peaky Blinders film. Believe it or not pretty much all my suits are peaky blinders and yet I've never watched the series. 36 x one hour episodes, plenty of time now I'm not gambling so going to get stuck into that.
Lovely day spent running errands with my daughter
Still got some packing to do for the move but had a couple of hours family time and then looked after my kids tonight
Great chatroom at 8 followed by GA online at 9
Not sure of tomorrow's topic yet. I've got about 30 more in the bag of discussions but many don't seem to resonate with people on here as no replies. Anyway they are written from my perspective so good to get those thoughts down on paper

What a great day !!!!
Went on a walk with Good Mind Circles addiction recovery group which was fantastic this morning. Well worth the drive
Got back and had some family time and wrote my daily topic which was good to get out
8pm Chatroom was great as usual and then went to GA online which is my 64th meeting out of 90 days so 26 to go, online and in person
