The title says it all, i had a diary on here a couple of months ago, managed to go 3 months gamble free which is the longest i had been gamble free since i was a teenager.

Then the slippery slope began started small thought i could control it and now surprise surprise ive tumbled down the rabbit hole.

Im starting again today, whilst not gambling managed to book a holiday and started enjoying life alot more i want that back.

My recovery starts today i hope. I dont have a grand plan on how im going to do it. I am just going to do it no more excuses.

Jamie

fella well done for finding the courage to come back, the doors of recovery revolve, it does not mater how many times you come through the doors, it's what you learn when you do.

I have lost count of the folk that think after a period of abstinence that they are cured and go back at it,only to find themselves in a hole again

bottom line is there is no cure or medicine for us there is abstinence, a choice for life.

The mantra we all share whilst gambling the same

I CANNOT WIN BECAUSE I CANNOT STOP.

that is reversed the day you arrest the punt, you actually become a winner, my advice the same that was gifted to me on my first days recovery

there is a triangle

Time-Money-Location

take one away at all times and the punt becomes impossible, you get to keep your hard earnt.

See what three months abstinence gifted you, a holiday and a better way of life.

Get back on the gamble free bus and those things will continue to come your way.

Best of all recovery is free.

Enjoy it fella.

Duncs stepping forward never back

Hi Jamie

I am in the same position as you from the sound of it. Been on here a few times, but every now and again I think 'I'm cured' I can now gamble sensibly. But of course it didn't happen like that.

My advice is to never give up and keep on this site. Even after a year still keep on posting if only once a week.

Thanks guys for the comments on my diary.

I like that triangle Time-money-location really think that is a good way to look at it.

Today has been a busy day at work but i have thought about gambling, not to do it but asking myself how i am back in this position.

But i cant change that now all i can do it put all my energy into my new recovery and try to reclaim my life back from the drug that is gambling.

Day 2 Gamble free

Today has been a good day as i have not gambled. Its payday today usually when i do most of my gambling so a victory for me today.

Had to go into town to pay some bills so had ample chance to gamble but chose not to.
