Yo,

Hope this puts a smile on your face, like you did mine yesterday.

If cows were addicts would this be their six golden rules ?

1. Wake up in a happy mooo-d.

2. Don't cry over spilled milk.

3. Turn the udder cheek and mooo-ve on.

4. Seize every opportunity and milk it for all its worth!

5. Never take any bull from anybody.

6. Don't forget to cow-nt your blessings every day.

Thats it, no more jokes about Cows, promise 🙂

Have a good positive day, another step up everest .

Shiny xx

Ha, I was reading through some of your diary and then realized you'd left me a reply in mine. Thanks Sandra. Like I said, I'm doing good. Have had the odd moment, where I've been tempted but I usually just stop myself by telling myself 'Do you really want to deal with all that again?' Answer in short, NO.

Whilst I did slip and gambled for a few days this year I've also spent the majority of the last two years completely bet free. It took time though and these journeys are sometime not so easy.

The best day I had gambling was that day I lost again, came here and said I had a problem. After that, through some effort I'm pleased to say I really don't miss it.

I hope you're doing well. I've read you've been having a few low patches so would just like to pass on some love and support your way.

Don't let the slips you've had get you down either. Your response to them shows you, you're in control. That's a good thing.

Wish you the very best. Have a nice Christmas and bet free new year!

Alex

Morning Sandra

Your so inspirational to many esp myself you fight and fight and never givrpe up , this is the hardest journey anyone could have to make I think sometimes we have to remember we are actually making it , recovery is bespoke some journeys are similar and I would def say ours are mighty close

Together and onwards

Hi Sandra,

Hope you're okay and still kicking a*s! Hump day of the week, but if you like American traditions and you're down in Wales you're welcome to come over for a Turkey dinner with all the American trimmings tomorrow! 😉 Pecan pie to follow hopefully too.

Keep knocking gambling on the head, and taking those steps on the right path.

Aloha all and thanx Shiny, castle, Suzanne, Irene, Alex and Ryan xxx

Diary,

One of them non existence days and hardly picked head from the pillow. Hell i do like my days off and not be long before I'm back for some more "fun" in the office.
Feel absolutely drained physically and emotionally but just put it down to weather lol.(29 is new 90 in my case lol)
Missed important yearly work conference today. . which is about to finish now at my guess and not much i can do about it except to ring back my peers and explain my absence. f**k.....lol..can't believe it is understatement. ..just..can't believe it!

Ok..tick tock and back to dream land soon enough..feel like wasn't even awake today - happy days lol..i prefer dream land on days like this.

Positive note - no gambling. One more step to the right direction.

Stay safe all, shall catch you soon

Good morning diary,

So some good sleep and back in a land of living. Another day off, wage in a bank and no card in sight to spend it lol...as you see thoughts are here and me unconsciously thinking of a bet...hmmm..ya know what - dear addiction, i have no desire to sell my soul, well being and health to you so you can stay there in a corner for as long as you want to. All i can offer is middle finger to make it clear and back to the grinder of building that wall up to strengthen my defence. Just for today i will claim a piece of myself bk.

Time for a run...
Time to live...
Time to let go........

Stay safe all and keep up the good work. Be the winners for the day, something to be proud of.

Yo,

Thank you for your post , and appreciate the effort !!!!

I am not officially back to work for another week, but had and have a few meetings to attend. Along with staff events.( ho ho ho)

So no weekend working this week, although with every ying there is a yang. Think my next weekend off is the back end of January

Looks like you attempted to peal back another layer of that oh so big onion today , who knew onions has so many f******g layers( well Duncs probably lol), just another step forward , recon you need to trade those running shoes for some high quality climbing boots , oh and while we are talking purchases a Lutheran flag is must for when you reach the summit 🙂

Big fat hugs

Hi Sandra,

Thank you so much for your kind post. Very welcome at the mo, as I attempt to gain strength in recovery once more.

Hope that you continue to bat those urges away, as they do f**k with ones head don't they! The middle finger is indeed a vital weapon in recovery when directed at those demons.

Keep strong hun
