Day 6 - Today I will not gamble, not even the lotto.

Thanks for your post Jeff.

Has been pouring with rain and felt gloomy this morning as a result. Slept well again though, so feeling resilient! Im settling well, into my new patch at work. Has been a pain being moved around again, but what can you do?

Enjoyed meditation class last night. The monk is still overseas visiting his family, so it was another teacher but he was brill. Felt really peaceful last night.

Very pleased you haven't gambled for 6 days Freda, and it's nice to read that you feel relaxed after the meditation session.

I have tried meditating, listening to cd's explaining how to empty my mind etc....,what always happens with me though is that my mind gets even more busy the harder i try....wierd!!!.

Seano - sounds like you are trying too hard mate! its a gentle process and takes practice, but everyones thoughts get busier at first.

Glad that it is Friday tomorrow. It has felt like a long week!

Im glad how well I have coped with the change in my work environment, and feeling more settled as time goes on.

Today is day 7 for me, today I wont gamble.

Hi Freda,

Glad your in a positive place at the moment and working hard to keep those gambling gremlins at bay. Sounds like the meditation helps to centre yourself when everything gets a bit stressy. Maybe I should meditate instead of going out and getting dwunk every now and again. Am feeling sorry for myself this weekend after a sesh on Fri. Am tired of self-abuse even if it is not as often as it was.

Thanks for your support .. S.A

Thanks guys, your posts are all really helpful and appreciated!

Im doing good, have just been quite busy and been slacking off from diary reading and posting so I do apologise! Am going to try and catch up with you all tonight or tomorrow.

I feel like something has clicked back into place, and Im back in recovery in a serious way.

Today is day 10 and I have not gambled. My confidence in my ability to work at recovery is returning with each passing day. This is wonderful for me 🙂

Hi Freda

Thanks for popping by nice reading your last posts i too am pleased and im sure those gamble free days will soon pile up.

As for me i did not gamble today, wanted to tho, wanted the solitude of those fruit machines. Yer your right had realy bad encounter with friend or shall i say ex friend which kinda hurts.

Anyway thats enough from me all i know is that if i gambled today things would be a lot worse and i would be devastated...

Keep going freda, hope you have good gamble free week ahead. take care, ands xx

Hi freda,

I'm glad to hear that you are back on track. I like to read your positive posts as well! From what I read on here you don't need to gamble, you have a lot going for you (sometimes we are the last to realise that) and you help others as well. Stay strong you can do it

Hi f,

Glad to see you are back on the waggon again! It's so easy to slip into bad ways again and then they start to escalate out of control...we know the pattern eh? Well done for getting back on track.

Hope married life is treating you well?

Love from Jas x
