Hi Shiny

Thanks for the post and great that you feel my posts add value and provoke thought and good to know others like yourself agree with and have had similar feelings and experience. Good that you are being more upbeat and cheerful, could learn from that one myself!

Hi Shiny,

Thanks for your post and you are right the next 49 days won't be a walk in the park but I will remain strong and try to keep my form going, which I am really proud of.

Pleased to see you are wanting to be a more upbeat shiny penny, that's how I remember you, and always want you to be happy.

Have a lovely evening

Andy x

Hi Shiny,

Positive Positive Positive!!

Hope you are still feeling upbeat. Funny how we can be up one minute and down the next isn't it? I had a bit of a dip today myself for no apparent reason, and that's just when I was on the up!?!?....

Keep strong girl

Big kiss for Dad!

Ade xx

Hi Shiny

Thanks for post, much appreciated.

for info I am 46, have gambled since about 14, it became a problem to some extent in my early twenties but I didnt really admit the problem until February 2009. Since then I have made a lot of progress and cut out lots of areas of gambling but never got to the eureka moment of saying I want to quit all gambling despite many episodes of losing all my money. The sensible voice in my head says I need to stop and at present I am trying to do so. The other voice says I just need to cut out the episode days and I'll feel a failure if I cant manage to do this.

So maybe we have similarities with difference being you got to the stage where every day was a bad day whereas I can have 3 weeks of good days where I am in control but the one bad day ruins it all.

Good to read you are feeling upbeat, best wishes on your continued recovery,

Yo,

Winning post sooooo good to hear from you , I often wonder what's going on for you , still gamble free . Respect fella .

Still upbeat , playing a game of tug of war over the shop with my husband which I could well do without .

But holding my ground , being patient ( not a natural quality for most of us lol) and trying hard not to let myself obsessively worry bout it .

Will probs need Blondie to get out that dynamite ( metaphorically speaking) and see a solicitor independent of my husband to find out our rights over the lease .

He is adamant that he does not want to do that . Crazy I know .

Anyways like I said , no obsessive worrying allowed !

Laters

Shiny.

Sleep evades me tonight, so putting my restless itchy self to good use ( tramadol make you itch like mad, well only since Lazuras informed me lol)

Nothing in life is easy my dear friend, but i take two things from recovery, 1st the more effort we give recovery that more we take in return, to just stop gambling was never enough, we just went around and around that roundabout until are brain let addiction in again and the destruction continued, but through the huge effort you afforded yourself the rewards are forthcoming. 2nd forearmed is forewarned, so you do whatever you need to do regarding the shop, your not being unfair in doing so, actually the opposite, as we both know however painful you will do the right thing.

Shiny is the most important person in your life, through looking out for yourself you in turn do the best by everyone else.

Time again to tread that untrodden path.

Keep believing.

Hey Shiny....

Sounds like all the nuts and bolts are getting sorted out with the shop....

Solicitor sounds a good idea ...although my fave service the CAB also have a wealth of info and also it may be worth just ringing a local commercial estate agent for a bit of advice on the lease obviously depending on how much personal info you want to give...just thinking of ways to save you money and get your questions answered.

Glad your not letting the worry gremlin in ....make sure that fly swatter is on hand ....

Onwards Shiny xxx
