Thanks both 🙂

Day 75... frustrating day, topped off with a tax calculation and demand for several hundred £'s. Its wrong but the owness is on me to prove it. Several phone calls later (with incredibly long waits to speak to a human being) some proof of this that and the other will be sent to me next week which ive then got to send that to the revenue which won't get process until mid-march!.. and ive done nothing wrong!!

This is just the sort of thing that might of sent me to the machines. Its very frustrating but gambling is not the answer. One deals with lifes problems as they come along doesn't one.. and am doing just that. Thanks for listening... S.A

Hey SA...I hear ya buddy........me and Her Majestys little helpers are on xmas card terms...lol

Im not quite sure where they are getting this figure from ...are you on PAYE? as it should be deducted monthly .

The only other thing I can think of is that your tax code may be wrong or if you get any working tax credits they may have overpaid..either way its not your fault.'

R and D xx

keep rambling not gambling x

Day 75 continues....

Hi Rach... Its concerning tax year 2011 to 2012. Apparently I claimed a 4 figure sum in Job seekers allowance. I didn't. I was in work for the whole of that tax year. Am either...

A. a victim of fraud or

B. its an admin c**k up.

Anyway it will get sorted in due course. Nothing i can do about it here and now, so am gonna chill. Thanks for the reply... S.A

No, its not a case of proving that i was working its a case of proving that i wasn't claiming JSA at any point in that tax year. My earned income has been taxed as normal. JSA is taxable as well you see.

The bit i don't get is why don't they just put my national insurance number into the system and it will come back as having claimed nothing as what happend when i rang the jobcentre and they did just that. I don't get it?? Its bugging me but like you say Rach, i need to chill cos there ain't nothing i can do about it right now.

Thanks for support.. S.A

true....it does seem a faffy system for sure...you'd think these deprtments would communicate with each other and do all that back work before they contact you ...

well, another day today and its not going to spoil you time off... accept the things we cannot change as they say...(in this case admin incompetence).

It will get sorted.

Hi SA

Feel you on the tax, got a letter this week as well. They have me claiming jobseekers for same tax year (2011-2012) when I was working and didn't claim a penny but they are wanting 512 quid for claiming £2362 job seekers. I was claiming in 2011 but that was jan-feb, found work in March so would count as previous tax year. Be interesting if you have same circumstances as me as I reckon its an admin error and wouldn't be surprised if a few thousand have the same letter. Thing that makes you angry is they will not admit they have messed up and you will get some that will not question it.

Hi SA,

Don't stress on it mate...easy to prove you didn't claim.

Has the witch left yet? If so whats the new witch/wizzard like?

I apologise if you have already posted this but havn't caught up with all diarys yet.

On a side note as i'm typing one of my fave gambling recovery songs playing in magic "I can see clearly now"...oh la la la tra la tra la!

Hope you have a good weekend my friend.

Womble xxxx

Day 76.. no gambling problems

Thanks all.. and yes Rob, more or less the same scenario as you describe. My Jsa claim ended in january 2011 so nothing to do with tax year 11/12. Like you say more than likely an admin error.. but it P****s me off that after being on hold for nearly an hour I was made to feel like it was my fault and it was my responsibility to sort it out. Their error, their problem! Has your situation been resolved Rob, id be interested to hear??

Anyway am fine. Was at work today and then down the gym. 8km in 38 mins 30 secs. Am most pleased with that. Thanks for listening... S.A 🙂

Day 77 gamble free.

Just been for the first seriously long run of the season. I got marathon in 3 months time. I ran for 2.5 hours, somewhere between 16 and 17 miles I reckon.. maybe more. But right at the end I could feel the "mythical wall" fast approaching where my legs were about to say...

"ive got no glycogen left and I am going to have to use S.A's fat stores (considerable!) as energy, but i'm not very good at converting fat into energy, so am just going to seize up instead and force S.A to slow down to a crawl and then walk"

This year I will be playing suitable homage to the "wall" and the true amount of training needed to do a decent sub-4 hour time for the marathon. And to all you casual readers out who say "well i did the marathon in 2 hours 48 mins and 3 secs".. I hate you!.. lol.. not really.. am just jealous lol 😉

The Nvq lady comes tomorrow and i haven't done all the stuff I should have done.. gulp!.. do it S.A!!! Also Womble the horrid boss still has not left..rumour has it she doesn't want to leave and she keeps delaying the handover to new boss. This week could be most interesting indeed. But as always I shall do what serves me well and just take each day as it comes..warts and all.

One final point.. not a single drop of alcohol has passed my lips this year. Am not trying not to drink its just the way its gone. Not surprisingly I feel better for it. Anyway thats me folks, I appreciate you taking the time to read my ramblings.. regards to all... S.A 🙂

Sa.

Hats off to you my friend.

I could just about manage that on my bike! Lol.

Still who trusts a thin chef??

I struggle to run i have extremely clicky ankles and if i run on anything other than grass the following day i sound like a clapper board!!!

We had a letter from hmrc and said i owed 864 quid.

There error was to put actual pay in the actual pay box and duplicated it into the other income box

then added the two to double my salary !! I wish!!

Like you it was up to me to sort out!!

Human error i was told happens on 30% of all returns!!!

So on those grounds it would be acceptable for Mr Duncs to burn all he cooks two days a week !!!

Might put that to the boss tomorrow!!! Lol.

Keep up the good work fella

just for today

Duncs stepping forward never back.
