Thanks for reply on the gamstop thanks post. You have a Aussie accent. It's similiar to a British accent though? Ga'day!

Did you also use gamstop or contact the bookies?

Keep smiling.

Hi Bella or should I be true to my roots and say Gday Bella. Howz it goin’?

Hahaha that made me laugh out loud then. Sadly it doesn’t come across in text haha

I was reading one of your other posts about Gatecrasher and Mr Smiths. I’ve spent many an hour in Mr Smiths when I worked in Warrington. I believe it closed down a few years ago and the people of Warrington tried to get it brought back. Ahhhhhh fun times.

Yeah I rang through about two weeks ago when i stopped with Gamstop. I put a 5 year block on the Gamstop one which was a must. I thought if I put anything less then I’d not be serious about kicking this.

The lady as the exclusion company said she’d send me an email with the details and I’d need to fill it in. She took a long list of bookmakers in the area and assured me she’d send the paperwork. I haven’t chased it even though I probably should. I’d die if embarrassment getting removed from the place.

Wow.. I remember a Aussie in MrSmiths yes it got shut down a long time ago. It was a fun place. Was a hour drive from where I lived, use to take turns at driving.

Well I am told my accent the other day sounded like Dame Ederige (can't remember how to spell it). Cheek!

Ha. Yeah going into a bookies face to face and being refused would be embarrassing, at least your photo isn't on the window!!

Goodnight, keep smiling.

Hi Bella,

Yeah it was fun times. Seems we replaced those fun time with our addiction. Likewise I worked an hour a way from where I worked. Always meant I had to be designated driver haha.

Really? You sound like Dame Edna Everidge. Hellllllloooooooooo Possums.

I’m crying here laughing. So funny. Do you have her glasses too? She / he is an Australian legend.

Hope you have a good day.

Hi Kaz,

Thanks for posting. Don’t worry about the blip too much and having to reset. The world keeps spinning and we just have to move on and over these little set backs. If you want to talk about it and move forward feel free to shout 🙂

How long did you register with Gamstop for?

As for me, I’m doing ok I think. I haven’t really had any urges for gambling, yeah I’ve thought about but it, but it only came in for a moment then out again.

Day 15

As day 15 comes to a close I lay in bed smiling. I’ve had yet another fab day. The sun was shining and my son and I walked just short of 7 miles laughing and getting excited as he Pokemon.

It’s funny, two weeks ago I would have made an excuse to go to the toilet and be there for 20 minutes (not that I had toilet issues haha) or go upstairs for 20 minutes just to have a few spins to try and win.

The last two weeks I haven’t felt an urge to escape so to speak and have tried moving forward.

Also found out today the guy I rent from isn’t selling the house which is great news. Means I can renew the lease for another 2 years.

CJ.

Well done on day 15.. the sun sure made a difference for me too 🙂 I registered with Gamstop for 5 years, it does work I take it? Some say there are still ways to get around it but I’d rather not know how. Enjoy day16 CJ .... Kaz xx

Day 16

Interesting day had as I needed to stop for a toilet break on the way to dropping my lad off home after our week of joviality and fun.

Now whilst I am alone at a services I’d rinse through £100s of pounds chasing the win and the feature. Yesterday I had him with me and found that I didn’t have the urge to want to waste the cash in my wallet.

I also smiled to myself as I could others were ploughing money into their cash slots hoping for that big win.

All in all a good Day 16.

——-

Kaz,

I think the blocking is a start. The rest is up to you on how you push yourself through the challenges faced.

Me, I take each day as it comes and smile at how well I am doing. Instead of it being a rough day where I’d gamble and lose the money instead I have a rough day and do something else. Surprisingly I haven’t had many since giving up. 🙂

I suppose deep down I look at what can I lose if I go back to gambling. Money and material things can always be replaced however people and memories can’t.

Keep going. You can do it.

CJ

@dustyfairy25 thanks very much. I’m getting there and repositioning my focus on other things which is good.

@Kaz it isn’t that far ahead of you. Just keep messaging and I’ll try to help as we go through this journey with others.

Day 17

Today was my first day back at work after being off work for a week. Lots to catch up on but was busy busy busy.

Decided today to treat myself to some Krispy Kreme donuts. Boy they are good. Sugar rushed to the max.

I then go home from work and went for a walk finishing the day on 11.8 miles and 22700 steps. No wonder my feet are a little tender.

Walked past all my old betting shops and smiled. Music pumping I carried on and remembered where I was two weeks ago and how I was down the money I had.

Today was a good day 🙂
