Hi all thanks again for all the support it really does help

Dear Diary,

Had a really boring evening until I decided I wanted to play slots, i guess my brain really wanted a quick hit of dopamine! All i can say is that GAMSTOP is an absolute godsend for people like me. It has been days since I gambled and just like various times over the last decade I decided it would be a good treat (for having a break) to deposit a cheeky tenner and play some slots for a 'bit'.

I had recently self excluded from the latest slot site i was using and a few days ago I signed up for GAMSTOP. Too cut a long story short I have just spent the best part of an hour trying to sign up for sites I have not been a member of in the past and to my utmost pleasure (eventually) it was to no avail. I tried various google searches and various sites I haven't been a member off and not one would let me join and waste my time and money on their cons. I HIGHLY recommend anyone on here whose main problem has been online gambling and who is serious to quit to sign up with GAMSTOP. It has saved me tonight if I am being honest and I am very grateful.

Going forward I think GAMSTOP will be a big big help for me as now I only need to avoid going to bookies (have only ever been casino to watch boxing events and didnt gamble) which I can manage simply by having the resolve not to go in. If i'm out and about i will find a pub or Asda if i need a toilet lol. All in all after what could have been yet another relapse I am now feeling very positive about the future.

All the best

Dave

Hi Dave

Yes I’m okay thanks - still gf and thinking a lot about how I got to where I am now. But it’s good to be self-aware. I can see you have a lot of good things in your life and much ahead of you. Try not to get complacent and remember how gambling makes you feel once you’re finished. I’ve won many times but can’t stop and know that as a compulsive gambler I will always end up losing unless I abstain. So one day at a time for me again and I really don’t need this in my life. Neither do you!

Too right mate! Read yesterday that one of the owners of 365 paid herself a bonus of 265 million last year and is already a multi billionaire. Dunno how they sleep at night knowing they are enabling people to ruin their lives whilst profiting like that!

I have a gamban on my phone and iPad. It’s brilliant, only thing now is I need to stop going into arcades, it’s like I have to win the £500, I mean it’s only £500, I’ve won it countless times and just put it back in! I using every bit of willpower now to not go in and give my money away, and I think the machines are fiddled.

After a relapse worth around £100 loss and 3/4 if not more hours wasted I bought the Allen Carr book and it made everything clear.

It's now been 34 days completely gamble free. Not even an odd scratch card or 25p 49s bet. The book is a godsend highly recommend it folks.

Have been in contact with various payday loans creditors lately and managed to sort repayment plans with a couple. Still thrashing it out with some others.

Picked up an extra job working 8pm-2am. Honestly believe I can be debt free within 6-12 months.

Aww Dave.. I am so PROUD of you!
That is lovely to read. So happy your getting your life in order. Maybe contact gamstop online? Or did you gamble in a bookies. That book is amazing. I keep reading it.

Brilliant you have a 2nd job, don't overdo it though. Exhaustion can bring all the panic to gamble back. I do believe you can be debt free in 12 months. I got every faith in you.

52 days today and tbh only had one urge to gamble in last two weeks and soon snapped myself out of it. Since reading the Allen Carr book the only thoughts I have regarding gambling is the regret I didn't know about the book over a decade ago.

Still in lots of debt but now I don't smoke, gamble, drink or any other expensive nonsense it's only gonna get smaller.

Thanks again for the kind words Bella hope everything is going great for you!
