Hey guys, Just wanted to post an update on my progress since another attempt at a gamble free life. My last post was just explaining that i had fallen back to my old ways despite going 148 days GF from (November 2017-March 2018). My last big gamble spell was from September to the middle of November 2018 and i was winning alot of money, of course this was short lived and i eventually gave 75% of what i won back to the bookies. So my last posts was explaining about losing and the struggle of letting go of the losses. So here i am 54 days later and i remain gamble free. What i've found interesting about this time going gamble free to last time is that its been so much easier. When i went them 148 days late 2017 to early 2018, i did have slight struggles to not relapse. One of them being boxing day what was a tradition. But this time round the 54 days have passed with no temptation what so ever. I used to still look at the lotto draws to see if i would of won anything from my usual number but now i haven't even done that. Obviously i know from much experience that you can never let your guard down with gambling but i think i reached that point where i was fed up. My new way of thinking is this (may help others too). Im treating gambling the way i would a ex-girlfriend. By that i mean id never go back to a girl ive been on and off with all the time, a girl who keeps letting you down when you think this time might be different, a girl who makes you cry but then you forgot about the upset she has caused me. Why would anyone keep doing that, so ive took that approach to gambling. I'm treating gambling as a person, a person who im finally breaking up with cause they have made me cry so many times but have always gone back to cause ive gave it another try as ive forgot and forgave all the past hurt. Friends help you through break ups, well my friends have been Gamstop, multi operator self exclusion and a real partner who keeps me away haha Its working guys. I wish everyone all the best for the new year and hope my post can help in someway. I hope to post again after 100 days. All the best, Embracing the struggle
