Is it really 11 days since I updated?

Pleased to say that during those days there has been no gambling and no desire to gamble. I have however enjoyed a birthday and spent time with my family.

Work is still up in the air with a restructure on the horizon. It's going to be a tough few months but I will approach things head on and not hide myself away in the bookies.

The barriers will remain and I reach 300 days soon so I chose that today will be a great day and I hope it is for you too.

Here we are "good Friday". Well for me, the past 40+ Friday's have all been good so I will enjoy today as every other. Come to think of it the past 298 days have all been good so I will remain in my positive "I am doing this" frame of mind and enjoy every day gamble free. I don't read the forum much now as in honesty, I don't get a lot of what is being said. As a result I have become less interested in others' toils and fights with the demons, it seems to get lost in the volume of posts and banter (not a criticism, just an observation - many will benefit from the "relationships" that have developed on here). Am I being selfish??? Maybe but it is my journey and my continued abstinance is because of my effort - am I being arrogant? Yes but I will continue to focus on me and the beneficiaries will be those I love and my own sanity so I don't apologise, I just remind myself that I decide what I do and therefore it is me who must remain wary and respectful of what will happen if I make a bad decision.

I am 298 days gamble free and remind myself how that feels. FANTASTIC

I will have a "good" Friday and I hope anyone who reads this does too.

All is well. As a golf manic I enjoyed the weekend watching the most incredible golf at the masters (on TV of course). Not really a lot to update on - gambling is now far from my thoughts and there is far too much to think about which is positive and enjoyable. Summer round the corner and time to look forward to everything that it brings. This post is there to be read if ever I feel a need to remind myself exactly what not gambling brims!

Have a good day!

Can't believe that it's been over 2 weeks since I came on here - where does time go? Good news is that it's been a gamble free fortnight as will the next 2 weeks. 330 days in and I will not go backwards! Tomorrow will be a great day for me!

Cheeky weekly check in to remind myself how good things are when gambling isn't involved. Few days off with a bit of golf and general garden based DIY-

Life is better because I choose not to gamble - so I will continue to make good choices and enjoy. Every day has the opportunity to be a great one if I make good decisions so.... Tomorrow will be fantastic! I hope it is for all who want it to be!

You're edging closer to that first year mark, just popped by to say well done and keep going, one day at a time... Missed you in group these last few weeks, but glad all's going well in your world. Take care of yourself, keep those guards up and enjoy x

Life continues to deliver and I continue to enjoy it! I could talk about the improved money situation, more time, clearer conscience, happier outlook but I won't. I will however remind myself of the inner peace that not gambling gives me. Every day I make good choices and often bad ones but when it comes to gambling I realise that one bad decision will have far reaching consequences, as I said last night at GA, I have a new addiction - I am addicted to enjoying everyday! And will continue to make decisions that feed my addiction!

For the first time in a while I thought I would sit and read some diaries to take some inspiration from successes and also to update myself on what's been going on in people's lives. Now, I have been on this forum for nearly a year and it has helped me immensely to record my journey and share the gambling challenges of others'.

I am little shocked as it seems now that many of the discussions/posts on here are about squabbles or misunderstandings between fellow CGs, I just read the last 6 weeks' posts from 3 inspirational people and they are largely taken up with what seems to be a download of frustrations about what others' post rather than their own "recovery diary".

Shame really but I will continue to use this forum to depict my journey and anyone is welcome to post support or advice but for now I will just say - success is the result of good decisions, a little bit of selfishness and taking ownership of the challenge!

I will treat others' posts with respect but understand that we all convey our thoughts differently, I will act on the good advice and try to offer constructive support - isn't that what the recovery section is for?

For me, today wIll be a great day free of gambling, I hope it is for you too.

Hi SB

I couldn't agree more the in fighting can be frustrating seems to have chilled a bit. I suppose people are going to have differences of opinions which is a good thing. I've always taken bits a pieces from others to make my own formula that for now is working for me.

I read all diaries it helps me and a key part of my recovery is helping others. It used to annoy me when it appeared to be thrown back in my face, I'm stronger now so it goes over my head

Thankfully the majority on here are here for the same reason as me and you. To get our life's back on track.

KTF

Quick check in to say all is well. Slight concern that my job is at risk of redundancy but I will work through the process and remain positive.

Next week will see me hit a year gamble free so I will keep enjoying every day and continue to make good choices!
