Today was the day you were going to call round mate? I really hope it happened for you because you as Unlucky said in his post you are such a great bloke and an inspiration to us all and you deserve the good things in life.

Was reading Tommi's diary earlier there - he has come through the urges with flying colours. The bills are paid and the shopping done. Great to hear, isn't it?

Just popping in to congratulate you on how well your recovery is going... how well you work that recovery.

Not only have you remained 'clean' for almost a year, which is a major achievement in itself((wp)) but your selfless support of others on this forum throughout your time here is just amazing.

You have welcomed, helped and supported so many... Even when life has been less than easy for yourself.

Some of your own diary entries that I have read in the past, have shown such hurt & torment that you have had to endure and work through in your day to day living, just trying to see your children. Stuff that would have sent many running to the arms of the enermy... but you wp, have learnt that gambling never helps any problems... only consumes & destroys everything.

You have real inner strength my friend... you should bottle it... it would be worth a fortune!;-)

There are a lot of people both past & present that I admire on this site. But I especially admire single people that fight this addiction... don't get me wrong, As you know,I have first hand experience of this bloody addiction and know how difficult it is for the gambler to face it head on and say ENOUGH... but it surely has to be harder for the single fight with limited support as apposed to a couple/family. It is a subject that Jim and I have often talked over & pondered on.

So wp, keep doing what you are doing my friend... coz its definitely working for you.

Thank you ALL so much my friends. ..jac you brought a tear to my eye ;-)...thursday went well. ..very difficult when you're told "please don't go daddy" but was pleased in general with the reception I got from everybody :-).......after last weeks great day out can you believe I nearly slipped up yesterday. .a lad at work tried to sell me a football predict the scores ticket for a local boys club. ..fortunately I had no money on me but even though it was only a quid had I WON it could have led to disastrous consequences cause I wouldv self destructed playing up my winnings...I won't give this evil the chance to go down that route again !!!!……there is a good feel about the diaries at the minute. .sad to read about blocked situation but when I look back I was having an affair with gambling for years ...this evil can destroy you if you let it. ..christmas is just around the corner and I've a funny feeling we're gonna read of more unfortunate stories in the lead up similar to last year when many arrived with new hope only to disappear. ..its up to US though to keep them here. ..today I did not bet tomorrow I won't bet we can do this friends 🙂

At the end of your first post you said 'please help me' and all you do now is help others.

Don't forget about yourself mate, but I don't believe for a second you nearly slipped you are way too strong for that.

I also get worried about the number that come and go on here, but we've all done those soundbytes for help, but don't meant it, they have to ready to do it for emselves and we'll be here to help em when they are.

Thanks for your post wp, you are a top man and when Gamcare decide to hand out recovery awards at the annual conference you have my vote for selfless help.

Heartbreaking about Thursday mate with "Please don't go Daddy" but I am really glad you got to see the kids mate. I am sure it gave you such a boost.

Good for you dodging the football ticket thing Winningpost. Fair enough it was only a quid but one day I actually lost over £300 and it all started with a bet for only 34p! There was 34p left in my account and I put it on a horse that lost but before I knew it I was £300 worse off. It is that easy.

I too have noticed a great positive vibe with the diaries on here Winningpost. It is great to see and it will give everyone on here a great lift if we are all heading in the same direction in our recoveries. Long may it continue.
