I thought I'd start up a new diary as this will be my final diary with all of my future milestones.

Starting this diary on day 17 and everything is going as planned.

I was bailed out for the last time 2 weeks ago and my wife knows everything which is a huge relief as i dont have to and cannot hide anything anymore.

We are still getting through some trust issues but the main thing is 20 years of gambling and now i am finaly beating it.

Many more positive posts to come and i thank in advance for any comments for me to think about along the way.

Mba

Hi Mba,

Thanks for your post, and well done for sharing your story with us.

You sound very determined to overcome your gambling problem, and I’m glad to know that everything is going as planned for you. Hopefully, your determination will enable you to achieve your aim.

Now that you’ve been bailed out of your debt, try and keep to that clean slate, and let go of all your losses.

As you said, your wife is aware of your situation, she would perhaps be able to give you the support that you need to progress with your recovery.

I think it’s also a good idea that you’re going to start a new diary for your recovery; apply whatever strategies that you feel would enhance your recovery process.

I wish you well, and look forward to reading from your new diary too.

Keep up the good work, and keep posting!

Regards,

Beatrice

Thanks.

I was chasing losses for a long time and owed money out that i couldn't pay which i was always trying to win.

Finally the chasing and gambling has stopped.

I pretty much had no choice as I was bailed out and i know I will not only lose my wife and daughters but siblings too as they have helped me alot.

I do still owe alot of money but is now all just manageable and as the months go by and the debt reduces it will all be worth it.

I am starting counselling through options which is sponsored by gamcare and will consider meetings if my counsellor thinks it would be positive to me.

You are lucky to have had people to bail you out! A lot of people don't.

MBA you can beat this & it's great you have the support from your wife & value her & your daughters.

Keep going & recognise the damage gambling does you don't ever need that back I your life again.

Thank you Emily for the hugely positive comment.

You are so right in advising me to ignore them and i will.

We are all in different situations through gambling and yes people like me and you have been bailed out as we have wonderful friends and family and maybe they feel we actually deserve their help.

However all that help from my family is now support and all stopping me from ever goin back to gambling.

Just completed 28 days, 29 days today and it will be you before you know it Emily.

Mba x
