Hi John

Glad you are finding the book a great help, I know I did. Yes, the FOBT’s have a limited shelf life, thank god. Night racing stops at 4pm in the winter but bookies are open until 10:30pm because of these machines.

Well done on your recovery, keep going.

Shaun

Day 28.

Life after gambling.

Living a much more straight forward life and finally seeing light at the end of a very long tunnel , a new determination inside me with the tools to react to problems when they happen.

Onwards and upwards.

Two weeks in and starting to feel normal again. For the first time in years I see things so much clearer , I hope this is the start of something special

Hi mate

I hope it is for you too. Keep going but please remember this is only just the beginning. Moods will go up and down... Gambling will come for you dressed in different disguises. Life will kick you in the groin when you least expect it... Morale will be low at times.

During those times you may be weak but reach out to people... Talk, get support. Feel better. Realise it's going to be ok. Realise the pain at that time is temporary. Then you win the battle for that day and regroup.

Just remember the war is just starting but if it all feel different this time then you have every chance of winning if you stay on this path and reach out when you need help. Good luck.

Day 43 - this is the strongest I have ever felt post gambling.

The method I chose was Alan Carr's easy way , finally I start a new chapter in my life.

Day 345.

A huge struggle to begin with but a book I read Alan Carr set me on the right path.

Each Saturday i fill the void left by gambling with family , friends and other productive things.

I am 40 next year and had gambled since I was 14 years old maybe younger , I was brought up on horse racing , working mens clubs and fruit machines.

My suggestion to any recovering gamblers is read or listen to the Alan Carr way of thinking , coping and hopefully the book does for you what it's done for me.
