Thanks Lou!

Not going to gamble today. Day 13.

I never realised that one Gamban account could be applied to a number of devices.  I've already set up Gamban on my PC and now I've set it up on my smartphone using the same account.

These are the only two devices I use. I wouldn't DARE use my work device.

I'm just thinking what else I could do.  Have I seriously covered - having already signed up to Gamstop - all online gambling options...?

There's no way I'm going to go to an unregulated casino because I know what will happen there. They never pay out anyway - I've been bitten before - so even I am not stupid/daft enough to go down that route.

Day 14.

I've noticed that, because of Gamstop and Gamban, I'm not navigating to anything gambling-related online, partly because Gamban doesn't let me, and partly because there's no point.  I'm freeing my brain away from gambling thoughts as a result. And clearing my thoughts for other matters I need to deal with in my life, but without gambling polluting/wasting my thoughts and time.

One day at a time.  Today I will not gamble.

Hi RochG, I think you've hit it on the head  it's the time enforced away from gambling because you cant that sets your mind free. Then that time away from gambling gives the mind space to heal....because unless you heal you can't move forward. Yes one day at a time today we will not gamble, keep barriers strong, keep the demon safely in the shadows. Well done be proud of yourself

Thanks Charlieboy and you're right, slowly our brains, and hearts and soul, have an opportunity to heal when devoid of anything gambling related.  To be honest, today I simply haven't got the time nor inclination to think about gambling. But I know this can change.

So as always, it's one day at a time.

Day 15.

I won't be truly happy till I reach Day 1500 to be honest. But, for now, I'll take another day under my belt.

Day 20. I will not gamble today.

Especially as I've read how the government are planning to scrap online gambling in sports. Hopefully followed by a cull online, and on YouTube, where the real damage is. This is a huge huge problem. 300,000 problem gamblers in the UK? I would say 1.5m and mostly newer addicts  aged 18-30.  A lot of them, sadly, don't know what's hitting them and will only see the light once significant debts have mounted. Sleepwalking into disaster, and the lockdown hasn't helped this captive audience.

Online casinos, with hundreds of carbon-copies springing up every day with different 'skins', all offering free this and free that, before sucking every penny out of you, are the worse. It's like the Wild West online.

So just for today I'm not gambling in support of these first steps from the government. But it needs to go much, much more.

Day 22. I will not gamble today.

And, exceptionally, in memory of Sir (Captain) Tom, who said: "Tomorrow will be a good day", I will not gamble tomorrow.  In remembrance of this wonderful gentleman.

Great post RochG.

I join you in applauding the actions of Captain Tom who was an inspiration to many people.

RIP Captain Tom.

Now I am gamble free I keep thinking it would be nice to finish my life on a positive note and be remembered fondly by others.

My recurring nightmare sees me arriving at the pearly gates and hearing St Peter calling out bingo numbers ???.

I will try to visit the Peeraid Chatroom in the morning but am nearly out of data which refreshes tomorrow midnight.

Aum.
