Just back from Spain. No gambling lately. I am slowly getting there.

Being away with friends give me some time to think about things. It made me realise just how much my wife does for me and her good qualities.

I went to GA today aswell. I am determined this time.

Sorry to b**t in on another thread but I've also been successful in reclaiming from payday loan companies. Just over £7k back that has been uses to pay off other debts and a few treats.

There's an excellent guide on debtcamel.co.uk but basically you can complain directly about unaffordability and they have 8 weeks to respond. At that point you can escalate to the Ombudsman who will make an informed decision. I had borrowed £39k in total across 18 lenders...shamefully.

Found it a very useful exercise though.

There's a good bit of advice from Gary above, would sure be a nice bonus and something new to focus on, in getting some money back from them odious pay day loan companies. There more of a low life than gambling companies

Hi folks,

I sent a letter to payday loan saying they were unafordable and i had a gambling problem. If proper financial checks were carried out i should not have got a loan. I was also to blame but i was vulnerable at the time.

I borrowed 50k over 4 years and i got a 10k refund. I paid all my debts and give my wife and parents money.

If the payday loan companies don't refund then go to the financial ombudsman. Check their website out.
