Don't engage there, Alan, better to stick with the threads where you'll get something positive back.

Lol...thanks for that lovely post on my diary x
I've heard urges do get less with age ! : )
And tis a pleasure to be saftley behind you x
Thanks Alan ☺
I know what you mean about my "happiness"..hell, you know me - it's very rare occasions :-D...but i take them as the biggest win ever!
I guess tiredness caught up with me today (3x 12hrs night shifts over weekend) didn't give me much time to rest & relax..
However, i dealt with myself today and whola! I am squeezing a smile now!!! Trust me! ☺ 😉
Ringing parents tom so expect chirpy post some time in the day 🙂
Take care and keep winning - one day at a time!

very inspiring alan nice work
Finding time for recovery is my challenge
Always something else to be doing
So here we are dear diary , day 259 and another day another dollar as they say , only this time earning it for real instead of trying to kid myself about the elusive big win ! .
Strange morning so far , had my annual HBA1C blood tests this morning for my diabetes and will get the results to show if I've been a good boy in a couple of weeks , eye scan next week and hopefully thats it for another year , like gambling , it's all manageable providing I take a few precautions .
Came home after the blood test and walking the dog this morning and was greeted by a huge great Pigeon sat on the curtain pole in my lounge , my 11 year old jack russel cross patterdale saw it straight away and thought it would be great fun to show it every room in the house , a sort of guided tour that any estate agent would have been proud of but a tour that involved chasing rather than the usual guiding around and pointing out the great views or the closeness of the local schools that you would expect ! .
It's quite amazing how my dog seems to perk up when prey presents itself for the taking , being 11 yrs old she has really started to slow down now she tore a ligament in her back leg a couple of years ago and I think it gives her a bit of jip now and again and a walk that would of taken half a hour is now more of an hour long, but see a fox or a squirrel or a juicy fat pigeon andd it's like she just drank from the fountain of youth ! .
So feathers and fur were flying around , until the bird came to rest upon a window cill above three steps that connect my lounge to my dining room , I stood on a chair to catch the offender which didn't want to be caught , slipped and realised in a split second something I already knew from reading about it , Birds can fly but I can't ! , fell to the floor but with bird in hand :)))), I did contemplate ringing it's neck but hey I did leave the window open that allowed it to gain entry in the first place and although my dog was foaming at the mouth , it flew away to join it's folks once again .
1 hr and thirty mins later , I've just finished hoovering the feathers and washing twice the birds body weight in poooh which resembled an air traffic control flight plan from Gatwick to Italy and back from my new 3 piece, floors and curtains , and my dog is now fast asleep legs galloping along as she relives her latest adventure through her dreams . :))
I hope everyone has a less eventfull and gamble free day !

Glad to hear that your house has been fully blessed, if not in the way that you'd like.
Not one person has asked if you're ok after your fall so I won't change that.
Dastardly and Mutley - catch the pigeon!!!!
Ooh lol....that so brightened up the time I've sat here waiting for truck wheels to be balanced !
Getting some very strange looks from the fitters..thankyou...and I hope your body is still in one peice. ..x
Thank's Crew , for all the comments , It's always a pleasure to share some of life's funny bits instead of the heartache of where weve all been !.
Love to all xx
Hi Al,
Good to hear you're ok and dog is reaping the rewards after giving a chase!
I am kind of chirpy today lol...a little seesaw emotions but I'm pushing and keeping myself occupied! That means sparkling house, music through the roof, pots and pans on the stove ☺ 😀 ... phone call in a minute before parents say goodnight for the day (+ 2hrs time difference )
Keep on keeping on and keep smiling! ☺☺☺☺
Great tale about the pigeon. What you doing leaving the window open? You must have a good neighbourhood watch scheme?!
alan ur dynamite after this journey you should may be go full circle and think of part time or full time advisor as A you been there B you got through it C u actually do listen to people and try and give advice on the subject in hand instead of reading straight out the gambling cliche stats book D even tho u have been right to edge of the deepest darkest of places ur names everywhere on here trying to pitch in and help out whilst at the same time dealing with ur own situation , i tip my hat and raise a glass to you sir you truely are a gentlemen.......... im currently on a sabbatical from all things gambling at the moment and of on hols next week keep up the good work alan and good luck to you and everybody else on here whom are trying to battle their own demons for all the newbies on here its gonna be a long hard road ahead it was never going to be easy i suppose thats why we are all here but take a look around read alans thread and so many more inspirational people who are claiming a piece of their own life back day by day ..............cheers alan thanks for ur time
Yo Al, thanks for the post! Past huh...heh, we can look at it but not stare at it! I had many spats on here (Mr Dan included) and look at me now - biggest respect to the man and I'm grabbing his advices and kind friendship with both hands ☺
I am a stubborn cow. I always seen MY way and nobody elses..how wrong..boo!!!..it took a lot of hammering to this head (mainly from Sesuo) to separate all this in my head and a lot to accept!
Anyway, we're good right! Ohhh..not sure who started high fives on here but it's kinda fun thing to do huh! Surprised Sesuo had a hand left after the marathon cause we had more than one high five on the day 😀
Nothing changes if nothing changes - love this new outlook and praying for it to last forever..of course, i have a right choices to make for it to happen ☺
Have a good one - back to work for me ...boooo 😉
Affected by gambling?
