Hi Alan,

Just read your post on other thread (bad memory so cannot recall to who :-/) but just wanted to thank you for making me realise something important.

You're great guy and i know we had spats on here (my fault indeed) but i truly have a lot of respect to you!

You're doing it and doing it in great inspiring fashion.

You truly deserve all the best in life & all i can say - keep reaping the benefits you so deserve.

Recovery = life ☺

Thanks for your posts and support. I appreciate you being there for me. Think I've said it before... that I know I can count on you and that's something special.

You're right... " instead of a person bound by the chains of your past , maybe time to draw a line on the old you and give that person burried beneath a chance to surface ."...but how? How do people just do that? How did you do it...or kelly? I think we're wired differently. We certainly have different approaches and coping strategies. I'd so love to just be able to draw a line under the past, but I just don't know how to switch it off. I've looked for the f*****g off button, but I can't find it anywhere!! How I view the present...how I respond to things big and small...they are all in some way shaped by my past. Some of that is in a really good way. My past has made me compassionate, understanding, balanced in my views, able to see both sides, aware of the preciousness of life...so it's not all bad. But there are some things that I'd really love to just let go of. Worrying what other people think of me is one big example. Seriously, how do you just let that go? I really do want to. I think some people (you being one of them) probably naturally just don't care what people think.It's like I know how I want to be...I know the "right" way to view life and I model that to my children and I mean it for everyone else...but in my head I don't feel it. Not consistently anyway. Not sure if that makes sense. I think I'm waffling, so I'll stop.

I hope you're ok. I've seen some of the posts on toad's thread and I know it's been getting to you a bit. xx

Yo I'm ok Alan...day off today from 2nd job. ...so back to the diy. ..oohhhh why did I start it lol...oh yes...for my lad. ..so I'll soldier on...always takes longer than you think...anyway...I've got wallpaper paste in my curlers. ..better than f*****g hairspray !. ..and the dust from the room has set the face mask a treat...so negatives into posatives and all that malarkey lol
So apart from diy today...it's just...shopping...cleaning flat...cleaning my bar...sort tea. ..control ever greedy washing basket...ooh...and then open at 5....should be an easy day ..lol
Hoping your tickety boo...and those little boys are settling well with you and your lady. ...must be a massive change in lifestyle for you....mahoosive respect my booty....right...back to work...mwahhh x

Afternoon Uncle George. Thanks for taking the time to explain your thoughts about stopping. It makes perfect sense, and I like the neon sign idea. I'm feeling much better today...coming round from that punch drunk feeling...and I've had so much support and words of wisdom that I need some time to let them all sink in. I guess that I'd like to be where you are with...positive with a love for life...and on some days I def feel that way, but on the other days when life just feels like a grind it gets my head in a spin again. I don't know. Still not feeling like I can think straight just yet. I'm going to let it all filter through as I'm finding myself going from one person to the next thinking "yeah, you're right" "actually, you've got a point" "I like that idea" "wish I could be like you" etc and it's just aking my head spin even more. Feel like a whirlling dervish!!

Anyway, mostly I'm popping by to say thanks. Thanks for taking the time, thanks for caring, thanks for always being there (seriously,do you ever do any work?!.), thanks for being a good bloke. I'd high five you but people would think I'd seriously lost the plot. Normal service will soon be resumed xx

I agree with your comments but i find there are a circle of addicts on this site who gang up on you.
I don't want to elaborate but just be aware.
