Mark.

Fella debt brought through feeding our addiction is a symptom that in recovery we have to find a way to manage, bottom line iswe ccreated it so it's our responsibility to repay and learn a great lesson from.

Can I ask

Does your wife know about your recent relapse?

I ask because you on your previous thread used to write about the family you hold dear and used them as your inspiration.

I fear that through not writing about your family it's because she believes that you are cured?

I hope that I am wide of the mark but I write from the heart and have seen the same before.

My advice, be honest with yourself, get the debt into a manageable repayment plan and honour it.

Use that family of yours as inspiration again, because it was plain to see that your love for them outweighed addictions want to be fed.

My offer to meet for coffee and a chat stands my friend.

I know that you will get back to that place recovery gifted you previously

Have belief in recovery, it will profoundly change your life.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Hi all,
Really appreciate all of your advice and comments. I will reply in depth later but my wife knew of my relapse when I went stupid a month ago and we asked for help from my dad. I had a small relapse again after that which she doesn't know about when I never actually ended up losing but then I suddenly decided to stop before I lost it all like always.
I think that has made it harder to accept but I am on the yellow brick road to success and will get through this.
Thanks again dunc and my email is [email protected] if you want we could exchange mobile numbers.

Day 11.
Feeling the same but happy I am gamble free.
As people are suggesting I nees to accept this situation and get through it. I will and understand time is the best healer so I will continue to be gamble free and wait for the feeling low to slowly disappear.

Hi MBA,

Keep following that yellow brick road, one day at a time, your low mood will lift soon, it's hard to accept what we have actually done to ourselves and our loved ones. but when we have, it's then we do move forwards,

Have a good strong Sunday.

Day 15

Past the 2 week mark now. Definitely feeling a little happier and well on the yellow brick road to recovery.
No urges to bet, I won't bet, I can't bet and I accept that.
I now look forward to that day when I am debt free and gamble free and not looking back.
Onwards and upwards

Thanks Emily.
Yes that does put it into perspective.
Course I want to give up. Its awful when I'm with my family but constantly looking at my phone at scores and results.

Hopefully this will be my final attempt.

Well done to you too emily. Happy to hear your starting a business and may it be the start of something big.
Have a happy weekend.

Day 25.

Nearly a whole month without a bet.
This past few weeks I have felt strongwr every day and long may that continue.
It does help that the English football season has finished but I'll be stronger to resist when it begins again.

Hi jim thanks mate.

Yes sure it gets easier.
It feels like something is missing in your life until you accept it.

Keep up the abstaining.

Hey you 🙂

You are not forgotten, lol, but you made the choice of abstaining from your diary instead of gambling, :(( but am pleased to see you are back, and back in fighting mode.

Walking along side with you friend as always
