Hi, i will start by telling you a bit about me. I'm 28 years old and would say i have had a problem with gambling addiction for over 4 years now. It mainly involves online slots and i must have spent over £25 thousand in that time. Well this is my first post on hear, i hope this helps as i can't get much lower than the point i have reached now. I really want to get my life in order as fortunately up to this point i still have my partner and child with me and that's the last thing i want to lose. I will keep people updated on my progress and am there to listen to anybody else. Any words of courage or support would be greatly appreciated.
hiya SIBIL, glad you've found the forum, my problem was online slots as well, I can't even begin to tell you about how bad I was. Online slots is an awful addiction it's open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and 365 days a year - there is no getting away from it, however I've managed it and so can you.
Make sure you exclude yourself from every site you've opened and you should delete your e-mail address as they will tempt you back with the free money, trust me this does work I've relapsed previously because of this. Install a game block, you need to be determined that is the key. Stay strong and forget about the 25k - it's gone no matter how much you try and win it back it you will never win you will keep punting money in till your further in debt trust me. Be grateful for what you have got and not lost and I don't mean money.

babybluesky's points are all valid and you should definately get some sort of gamblock on your computer. K9 is free, but requires someone you trust to enter a password(otherwise it's pointless)
If you gamble on your phone/tablet then call your network provider and request they put an adult content lock onto your account. This will block all gambling software.
Other than that, keep posting on here, share your thoughts and try joining the '2014 challenge' in the overcoming gambling section of this site.
We currently have 40+ members that have stopped for various lenths of time that help support others, encourage and listen to each other when thing's arent going how we planned. Collectively as a group we have stopped for almost 6 years.
