When Compulsive gamblers who have really helped themselves by going to the gym, eating right and staying away from Gambling by putting every block possible in place then the Wolrd becomes almost bearable.

However, when they have a relapse because of the constant bombardment of aps and the ads during adverts or the hundreds of Spam emails in their spam folders or simply just from unexpected bill or life events such as close relatives passing away.

There should be something in place that they can fall back on to help them. Not those poxy agencies set up to pretend to hold the Gambling operator's liable and tell you several times they wont help because you never stuck to your part of the deal.

The biggest joke about it is; which you guys have already mentioned is that it is all one big scam to get the money through these machines so they can claim a hige amount of Tax from it.

I have never complained before to them because I always thought that with the blocks in place it would work. However, it never and Im asking for a refund of less than 1% of the money I have lost in my whole lifetime. They have refused, therefore its probably because if they gave back money to people like me their profits would dry completely up.

If the operators idendtify and uphold a possible breach from a self Exclusion at the earliest opportunity they wouldnt have to explain why they wont pay us back, because we wouldnt be allowed to gamble in the first place.

Instead they fund companies that employ people that refuse any  payback/redress to us  because the truth is they  are allowed to break the law and dont care about social responsibilty at all.

Gambling harms to vunreable people are ILLEGAL- which if you Google it- it says they clearly are breaching their licence conditions- and under the mental Health act 2005 they further are breaching their social responsibilty to protect vunerable people from Gambling related Harms and it also says you are entitled for a refund.

So, if they did keep those Handful of people out of their stores- they would then be running a less profible business and it probably would close down- instead they have clustered in the poorest areas- 3 in my town literally all next door to eachother.

We all know the truth and a few years back I was a heavy gambler when the Bookies were £100 a spin. It was like the Wild west, they were allowed to operate for so long and the Goverment took way too long to intervene,  they let all the small businesses go bust, people get ill etc etc. The other thing is, the Bookies got to the top of the FTSE index which basically means they could tell the Govenment what to do which someone did mention lobbyists earlier.

During Covid I was actually Working on several projects that worked closely with the Govermnent too.But that is a whole other story, if you catch my drift...

To wrap up and put into perspective. Banks are shutting down, shop have gone and Towns are not being looked after. The Bookies left and now we have Horrid shops full of the same machines that can still take huge sums from our pockets and there are hundreds of the same machines that the Bookies had so, in essence they can still get the same amount of money as before.

It is clear as day they need Self Excluded players in those stores and they have trained staff to approach when you Win! To break the thought pattern so you chase the feeling again until they get that money and in the very small percentile that do complain you are met with very hostile agencies that tell you they will not help- its 2026 and any company that fails in their duty of care should lose their licence immediately- my life is serious and people are driven to unthinkable things when this type of things allowed to happen.

Anyway, I want to thank absolutely everyone who commented on my post, I really appreciate it! Just to add I have read word for word every commend and I actually followed through by writing a letter to:

1. Trust pilot- Google reviews- pinpointed them and left a review for them to see. Banks, Venue, Gambling Commision, Trying to find the ADR and will comment.

2. Wrote to my local MP

3.Contacted Gambling with lives a charity that remembers people who were lost to Suicide from Gambling related Harm.

I will continue to argue that not enough is being done to protect us all. I shoildnt be ashamed about my Gambling addiction and am smart enough to fight against this horrible situation.

To summarize:

Self excluded customers shouldnt be allowed to place a bet and the money lost  should be returned.

In the case of online betting (which I do not so) Rogue companies that are offshore (which includes the brick and mortar one I lost in) do not pay any cooperation Tax should be removed.

Another point: If Inwas allowed tonopen an online account place a bet and win when I go to collect my account would be closed and funds withheld. Therefore, in my case I LOST money whilst self excluded, I should have all my deposits returned, shouldnt I?

Another point about the staff being trained to internvene after a win to break thought patterns of happiness, joy and contentment, they pretend to offer a freebie. It is a tactic online Casinos use; if you win they limit your stakes. And itlf you are losing they offer incentives; ie free spins.

A minority of vunerable people are trying their very best to abstain from Gambling and operators do not do enough to ensure their side of the Scheme is working.

If they actually did have to return monies lost they would do their job better and we would see their profits disappear overnight.

Gambling is a Public Health issue WorldWide and should be regulated to protect vunerable Customers

Even just posting on this forum will raise more awareness of how people feel about an industry that is promoting Gambling Awareness that doesnt actually exist!

Self-exclusion doesn’t work—I totally agree. There are too many gaps, and when someone is vulnerable, those gaps are all it takes. The system is supposed to protect people, but it fails again and again.

The machines are rigged. They’re built to take money, designed to keep you playing, and over time they make sure the player loses. With years of experience, it’s obvious they are not there to give people a fair chance—they are there to extract as much money as possible.

There should be a proper card or ID system where every player is registered. That way, if you self-exclude, it actually means something across all venues and machines. Without that, the whole system is pointless.

And the government should be doing far more—because right now, it feels like they allow it to continue while people suffer

@vrmjwb0kys Thanks for the reply.

I have now contacted the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. And would advise anyone that happens to read this to complain to everyone you can even when they say no.

Everyone I have tried to complain to has another department you have to goto, whether its email or phone it is like snakes and ladders.

You are right ID cards and banning systems that protect us with Facial recognition help.

When I looked into this venue I lost in,  whilst Self Excluded and suffering A Mental Health condition, I foundthat  they are an offshore Operator and dont pay any cooperation Tax. Just the same as the Cowboy online sites that dont sign up to BACTA!!. Yep that's right Tax dodgers allowed to operate on broken High Streets In Poor Areas.

Please write a letter to yor local Mp's and whoever else. We probably will eventually and unknowingly save lives if we  continue to argue with them. It isnt about the money anymore its about oir moral duty to protect our loved ones from the Breakdown of Society and to eradicate these parasites that will be gone soon because of people like us throwing stones at their towers.
