Well it sure has been a strange learning curve for me during the last 3 months that I have been off work due to my Pains & lack of mobility.

I really haven't had enough energy to help out (don't think thats the right terminology, but who care's!) on this site for a while but I have read when I can and do wish you all the best with your recoveries.

So, anyway I'm off to Hospital this afternoon, to get ready for my new metal hip to be fitted tomorrow...Yippy!...Friday the 13th!! as well. I'm so past caring if its an unlucky date or not! lol

Live for today guys and I will catch up with you soon.

Jackie

ps. Keith, thinking of you x

(((((Jac)))))

I will be thinking of you and praying for you and Jim during your operation and after, and wishing you all the best for a speedy and full recovery. Hip replacements are getting better and better these days, so you can join me with the titanium body parts now (I've got six screws and three rods in my back) and we can go around town seeing which metal detectors we can set off when it's all over!!

Love and hugs from across the pond....

Love, Anna

Hi Jac-

I saw your comment on the blog.

'Gambling is not compatible with who I am today.'

it feels so good to be able to say that 🙂

not that gambling, in and of itself, is BAD....I just know that....I don't care to spend MY days....sitting at a machine, press the button press the button press the button.

besides....we both know..that for ME....spending a day like that...is the beginning of a walk back to hell (or a RUN!)...

no matter what happens in my life...no matter what I have to celebrate...or to grieve.....there just isn't a PLACE for gambling.

besides....gambling...with the knowledge that I have...knowing what I'm doing to myself...where I've been....just feels 'dirty' to me now....it is very very different than gambling in ignorance was.

(((Jac))))

love you,

Peg

(((Jac)))

Thank you so much for your post in my diary.

I hope that you two are ok?

But I suppose you do what I'm doing at the momnet. Reading the diaries but not posting a lot. Call me selfish. I'm in the process of clearing house so to speak. Over the last few weeks I have been on a roller coaster and for the first time since I stopped gambling, I am following the 12 recovery steps.

I have been reading a lot of books and booklets and now I'm clearing my bad thoughts and memories from my brain, like I said clearing house. 🙂

It has taken a heck of long time(close to 14 months), but at least I can see it now. It's time for me to let the Higher Power in, I just had to make room.

Thank you Jac for being part of the miracle.

God Bless

Charly 🙂

Jac,

Very many thanks indeed for the kind words on my diary. In all walks of life we meet special people, special in different ways, but people who have an effect on someone, make a lasting impression.

No-one that has read your diary, or met you & Jim can fail to have been impressed. I am certain a hug number of people, not just gamblers (reformed or otherwise) but their families, friends too owe you both a massive vote of thanks and so much more besides. Such is the world today that people like yourselves are overlooked while they thrown honours at nobodies, people that looked after themselves primarily or a very close knit group who could give them the step / opening they needed.

But your not like then Jac & Jim, your honest hard working people who care. You deserve the OBE's MBE's and such like for your selfless, thankless work on behalf of others. Maybe someone, somewhere down the line will ensure you get the appreciation your hard work fully deserves. In the meantime I would like to offer my own heartfelt gratitude for your honesty, inspiration.
