After a few years of limited to no gambling my GamStop licence came to an end I decided that I felt in control enough to start betting again.
limits in place, it felt like a no brainer. A couple of weeks in and all under control (while winning). Fast forward to a couple of losses and I’m chasing with bets I’d never place. Betting up to my limit and then counting down the time until I can deposit again.
It almost feels embarrassing I have a good life but can’t handling my betting.
This could have been my own post. I didn’t go gamble free for 5 years but had restrictions in place to stop online. Disillusioned with my job, lonely from home working, and wanting excitement or something more - I took the restriction off. Lost a noticeable amount in a couple of weeks and for fear of my wife knowing tried chasing the losses. It spiralled quickly and after 5 years of sacrificing a lot and working hard to pay off my debts I’ve done it again on a bigger scale! My wife doesn’t deserve this and the weight of guilt and shame is immense. The only positive that’s come out of it is I finally think I’ve had enough of gambling and the toll it’s taken on me. Got to rebuild again now. Get through the next few years spending all my wages after bills on loan payments. This has to be the lowest point in my life but can only get better from here.
