I do enjoy writing these daily topics as they are a good reminder to me and keep me grounded but I never know if anyone reads them or takes anything from them ?
So this one is about podcasts as I love them. Whenever I'm in my car or taking a walk I love catching up with the podcasts on gambling addiction recovery.Â
My two go to podcasts in no particular order of favouritism are The Modern Meeting, shout out to Adam and The Addicted Recovery Show, shout out to Daniel and a massive thank you from my heart to both..I also listed to Rob on ODAAT. Took me a long time to realise what that stands for lol and thought it must be his surname.Â
I've listened to a few British ones as well but mainly the first two above. I really enjoy listening to the recovery stories of hope, especially those now working in this sector.Â
One thing I would mention. I was listening to Adams interview with Sal in the car on a long drive and it finished and switched to another recovery podcast from a different channel. As I was driving I could change it on my phone and was at first annoyed it was someone suffering with alcohol and drug addiction. I found myself listening intently after a few minutes and seeing so many similarities. As many know, the 12 steps recovery program used in manual fellowships uses the Big Book from AA but I hadn't realised how addiction is addiction. That's a whole extra set of podcasts to watch. I get such a buzz out of listening to these and often pick up tips/ideas if not affirmations.Â
