Yeah and as for the loaf , there must be a joke in there somewhere about feeling heavy when I gambled because I always needed the dough ? . Sorry they get worse don't they !

You don't need to do knit the entire shebang @ once...Why not start with little squares that you can later put together to make it! I too think that is an awesome idea 🙂

Thanks odaat. That's what I'm aiming for. The first lesson in the book is to make a square so I'll see if I can figure that out later tonight. Book came with two hooks and some yawn so I'm good to go.

I have done my first foundation chain in the world of crochet!!!

It's weird but I'm absolutely made up about it. It took my a while to get a hang of the first few loops and it's tricky to remember to count how many chains you've done as I'm concentrating on doing the loop.

I now need to work in rows of double crochet?! I have no idea what that means so more reading required in order to comment the second row... but the first row is done!

Thanks for your comments! I did make a cake over Xmas! I'll be baking that loaf tomorrow... think I kneaded dough too little and let it prove too little.

Yes my Mrs has seen me struggling over this first square. It's going well right now. Been feeding son so no more rows done but hope to get first square finished tonight. Need some more yawn from market on Monday to make other colours. I'm actually enjoying.

I am a firm believer that anyone can do anything they want if they set their mind to it. My mates dad really taught me this. I'd seen him build a bloody car... I'm not joking! He built a car. He got all the parts in and got someone to make a carbon fibre body to his specifications but he put the engine and everything together. He was a maths teacher. I'm seen him make furniture and I'm talking about really nice bespoke built stuff. He is currently building a boat!!!

I can make a blanket surely! Haha!

Wish I could quit gambling as easily. Writing this has taught me something though... maybe I haven't been setting my mind to it enough! It's a good point. If I can do anything then I can never gamble again.

I love snooker and loved gambling on snooker so with the masters starting today is going to be really tough. Just need to not leave the house.

Woke up in bad mood so can't be bothered kneading the dough and making that loaf. I'll see if it changes later and I get motivated to do it.

I've nearly finished the first square patch. Done 18 of the 22 rows. It is much neater in recent rows so it's not quite a perfect square as the early rows are a bit loose.
