I’m on day 40GF, today someone gave me a tip for the weekend ? now I don’t know what to do, it’s hard enough getting past the weekend as it is. It’s got me thinking about gambling, good I registered with Gamstop! But it doesn’t stop me trying to register with a online bookmaker. It’s going to be a long weekend. ?

So what? If it wins, it wins. You could look at 100 sporting events and get a selection right on anywhere from 1 to 100. Doesn't mean you're not a gambling addict. I once read a CG post that the worst thing about gambling was winning. As crazy as it sounds, it is true. Think about it - if you win, you'll have some winnings...you won't spend that on something good, you'll use it as future stakes to gamble with until you lose it all again...and probably more.

Do the right thing - ignore it 🙂

That tip is no different than if you had quit drugs and a dealer came round and offered you a free sample....

Detrimental is right. It does not matter if it wins or not... 40 days down the toilet if you do it...

Just say no...

40 days is brilliant! That tip is just what it is. An opinion. It means nothing. 41 days, 42 days that means something. It's a commitment to you. To your recovery. Don't give in based on an opinion of something that may or may not happen. Recovery can happen. Hold strong mate.

Ignore the tip, they are no more than a 50/50 at best.

The amount of tips I have followed which have seen me lose money rather than win is too many to mention.

40 days is a great achievement & shows you can do this.

You can get through this weekend & many more to come without following a ‘tip’.

Good luck, you can do it

Hi

Yes you should be very proud of yourself but you need to distance yourself from gamblers giving tips.

Ive seen every type of addict going and their banter doesnt wash with me now. You will learn to counter back and not stand for any nonsense. tipsters are mainly addicts or vested interests trying to keep other people hooked on it all.

You focus on what gambling did to you and you probably had tips during that time. Its not really an income scheme or get it back later scheme as you well know.

No gambling den ever offered you life changing odds on the only four legged horse in the race. Everyones a tipster...know what I mean

I hope you fully realise this is about more than willpower. You need cast iron blocks monitored by your loved ones. Its a vicious addiction waiting to come back out of the blue.

With time your mind heals and you clearly see gambling for what it is.

Best wishes
