over the past 3 days ive lost a lot and today I had went again and ended up having a nice win that only put my losses at less than even but I wasn’t all the way happy with myself still being down money so I got greedy. Lost it all. I have officially hit the worst feeling. I don’t know how to recover. Is there anyone with advice on what I should do? I know it’s not much to some but for me it would make a huge difference with the 25,000 debt I already have.

Hello Sad Iower,

Thank you for sharing your situation on this Forum.

You are not alone in having experienced debt and worry caused by gambling. There can be a temptation to try and ‘chase losses’ by continuing to gamble when you have experienced a financial loss. Unfortunately, this does tend to lead to more losses and a worsening of the situation. Most people do find it helpful to seek advice on their debts so that they feel more in control and can make more informed decisions. In the UK one of the debt charities for free advice would be www.stepchange.org.uk

If you are in the UK please feel free to call our Helpline on 0808 8020 133 anytime for someone you can speak to one-to-one about your situation with regards to reducing or stopping gambling. If you are outside of the UK you may find charities or entities specific to your country and Gambling Therapy - Practical advice and support for problem gambling which offers a global service.

Best Wishes in your recovery journey,

Louise,
