This post marks one month of daily topics under film titles. I hope the odd person has enjoyed reading them as I've loved writing them as a reminder to keep me grounded and doing what I need to.

No prizes for guessing what this one is about...walking

When I finally joined the recovery ranks, someone said to me, have you tried walking. I thought I play golf so I already mount up a lot of steps but was it the true sense of going for a walk. Was I able to take in, experience and enjoy my surroundings - no

So I tried it and loved it. Other people in recovery try all types of exercise but it amazes me that so many in recovery walk. There is so much enjoyment in a simple walk. It's free, it creates dopamine especially when you can feel nature and the environment, it keeps you fit and clears the mind of any thoughts of gambling.

Does anyone else enjoy a walk and what does it bring you ?

I love walking and have really missed it with my back injury, I feel like it would really help my recovery in this, hopefully I can get back to some gentle walking soon. Nothing beats being out in nature x

Hi El

I completely agree. It's my go to when I need some breathing space. I love where I live that I could get to the coast in an hour, park in 2 minutes, lakes in 3 minutes or woodland in 5 minutes
