Hello

I've just been researching GAMSTOP on the official website and looked at the participating companies. There is a long list of bookmakers/online casinos but I noticed that 3 major operators that I used to use for most of my online sports betting are not on the list. Hope it's ok for me to list them here as l*******s, b****5 and w**********l. These are 3 of the biggest names in the industry that you see in TV advertising and on the high street etc.
As so many people use these three it surprised and disappointed me that they were not currently on the list of participants and I am sure there are others - especially considering b****5 regularly advertise their commitment to responsible gambling. Please let me know if I have missed something here?

I'm already self excluded for the max time from all 3 operators but thought it was worth mentioning as others may need to do the same. I am 189 days GF currently and am not suffering with any urges. However, I certainly want the extra protection against any potential relapse that GAMSTOP offers. It just amazes me that companies that advertise their commitment to responsible gambling and 'when the fun stops, stop' messages are not signed up. I understand that the scheme may not include all operators but I thought the biggest firms would feel obligated to sign up. I hope this changes but if not it just shows their reluctance to lose their CG cash cows despite whay they say! The GAMSTOP website said this is accurate as of 26/04/18.

I did mention them but it appears that any company name is blocked automatically.

Probably best if you have a look - go to the gamstop.co.uk website then click get started in the sign up today area. There is a link to participating companies in the important information box. It should be clear when you look through the list as to which firms are missing when you think about TV adverts etc.

I managed to sign up after a few issues. Already had emails from an operator that I had an old account with that I'd forgotten about to confirm the self exclusion.
The big names I was referring to previously are still not signed up but I have read elsewhere that they will eventually. To be honest, I am sure they will feel pressurised into it so it can't be long before they join as well. Otherwise, they can't continue to claim to encourage responsible gambling if this tool is available but they don't recognise it!

I signed up without issue, got emails from two operators that they were excluding me due to this - including one that refused to exclude me previously. Just one major site that isn't on the list that affects me

Hi all, just to clarify. In due course all UK registered gambling operators will be required to register with GAMSTOP. To quote the GAMSTOP website:

"Later this year, all online gambling websites will be required to join by the Gambling Commission."

In the meantime you can still self-exclude from individual companies, and you can install blocking software and/or ask your internet provider to block gambling sites.

Best wishes

It is my understanding that all companies registered with the UK gaming comission will be legally obliged to be on the Gamstop register, no matter where they are based.

Hope I am correct.
