Do employers check credit reference files?

Hi,

Am trying to deal with the barriers and would like to put a note of the addiction on his credit reference files at the Big Three agencies.

I'm worried about him taking out a credit card behind my back. He's worried that future employers might check his credit rating but I can't see why. His present job has nothing to do with finance or accounting, he doesn't handle other people's money.

Does anybody know which type of employer would take a credit reference?

Thanks,

Cynical Wife

Thanks. So is it possible to record on his file that he's a CG without it going on the public record?

He was merrily gambling whilst working in the financial services sector but his employers didn't notice or object. Now he works in a different industry and won't be going back.

Thanks,

CW

Hi CW

I have limited knowledge of this but, for all it's worth, here it is:

My client at work is a major financial institution and I was screened before being able to work with them (this included a credit check). I can't speak about any other specific types of employers....

I check my Noddle account each month and I am sure it includes notices of correction.

Hope that helps

Thanks, HL, will enquire tomorrow. Am worried because despite multiple defaults, the last few payments were made on time and his free on line rating is 4.5 out of 5. Am wondering whether to deliberately default on the next instalment just to get him back on track. Would be much more straight forward to put a note on his file.

What a stupid system.
