hi everyone, ive just joined. i realise i have a problem, like alot of the posts ive been reading it started off with £5.00 here and there on bingo sites. i then started on the casino slots. i come home every night from work, turn on the laptop, head straight for casino and see what promotion they are offering me, sometimes its 100% cash match other times its 50% sometimes 25%. i consider myself lucky that as yet i havent fallen behind with my bills but i know im close, maxed out on two credit cards, overdrawn in the bank, my husband says to me often "oh you on that thing again" and i lie through my teeth, he looks at my balance and i say its free money. ive just received my salary and already im overdrawn. im not after sympathy - this is all my own fault, no-one forced me to do this. how do you go about rebuilding your life, paying off credit cards etc .. i thought about getting a night job but i shattered when i get in from work as it is, going into the casino is an escape for me, but i know now i have to delete it off my desk top and out of my laptops memory, the thought of doing it upsets me but i have to do it. just some support would be a great help to me, i feel so alone as i dont want anyone to know especially my husband how in trouble i am... thanks. x

Hi I'm the same just joined and have maxed out two credit cards also. Online bingo and slots although I don't do casino sites ands that's why I'm here before I start. I've started to go behind on direct debits and decided to come clean with my partner. I work away so it was easy to start gambling without her Knowing using my mobile phone. You must come clean with your husband my partner suprisingly didn't hit the roof.

Firstly welcome (both) to the site. There is lots of information and support here to help you.

As poll says it would be best to tell your partner. Wifey in my case helped immensely. Sure she was angry and called me everything under the sun. The best thing she did was take my debit card away and only gives me cash as and when I need it.

Tough love may be needed. Either with blocking software for the laptop or getting rid of it altogether. Slots in bookies was my vice, never played online so I am no expert.

Rebuilding your life is little steps. Sometimes hours and days at a time. Debt is horrible but you may want to give stepchange a call. They will help with debt management.

You have come to the right place. Keep posting and don't lose hope. You can and will get there.

Best wishes x

hope everything went ok and your husband has vowed to support you, hopefully this is a fresh start for you and you can quash the habit before it gets even worse, take it as a life lesson and start paying the debt off. all the best.
