My relationship with gambling is a strange one. Do I have a gambling addiction? Yes I do, but is it a need to gamble? I've come to realise no, what it is is that i want to get money, I'm not gambling because it makes me feel happy or a relief, I don't gamble for enjoyment or a buzz... I don't feel like I need a fix of betting, it's a pressure thing, when I feel like I need money to contribute more to certain things in life, I then try and gamble to get money, I see it as a way out. Which I obviously know doesn't work. When I do win I then take the chunk of that money put it in the bank. If I'm then where I want to be I can walk away. If not I then go again. Maybe my gambling has become more of a choice, some of it is also a boredom controller something to just stay interested in through out the day, especially if things are quiet at work. Everyone's relationship with gambling is very different, I have an addiction that doesn't necessarily feel like a need to do it. I'm quite confused with my relationship with gambling the last few months. So I'm going to try and do more things like this to see if we can work it out.

Go careful. When you start to see gambling as an income stream your on a rocky road. Gambling when bored..another red flag. Putting some of your winnings into the bank but leaving some aside for more gambling..another red flag. Just things to think about.

I definitely agree, I've had counselling for gambling and also gone gamble free for a few years. So I'm aware of the red flags and also how to deal with them. Just about the mental strength I think atm which is something I'm lacking
