So here I am again, I was doing so well. I was managing very well, only went to bingo twice a month rather than twice a week and hadn't touched a slot machine in the bingo hall since June 2019. But I started going to bingo with a new friend who plays the slots, at first I was happy to watch, then I started playing again and although I had had a few nice wins I know I need to stop before I get back to being completely addicted again.  I'm feeling positive. Let's do this x

It's so hard when someone around us is doing something we used to enjoy ourselves, but the positive is you realised you were slipping back to those 'old ways' and decided to so something about it.

Stay strong x

Good for you for stopping!!

I think that’s extremely risky and requires extreme self discipline within yourself to just watch if I was you I’d just say to your friend look can we do something else together that we both find fun that isn’t going to impact on us loosing ££

You will loose thats a fact and you know it too just really focus on your mind and tell yourself and as I said just suggest to your friend hey that’s do something else

because as well just remember what if she gets in a bad state and gets in a really bad situation I don’t think you want that for her and I don’t think any of us want that either

Your doing amazing amazing for yourself!! Just know that like you really are and reward yourself think as a treat hm what do I want to do with this money that I WOULD HAVE LOST and do that regularly but as a treat so it’s nice to you not becoming just normal to you you want to know it’s special and you’ve done good things for this

I'll subscribe to this so I keep up to date

I wish you all the best and remember YOUR DOING AMAZING

Morning all, so I survived day 1 on to day 2.  I read the replies and had a chat with my friend, turns out he has been struggling too. Spending too much on slots and scratchcards,  so he was actually happy to have someone to talk to about addiction.  We are going to stay away from slots ?.

Oh and a quick question. As this is my second time here my days without gamberling is very high. Does anyone know how to change it.

Hope you all have a positive day x

Hi Claire

If you go onto your profile and update profile I think it's in that section you can have a public date or a private date.

Stay strong x

So today I have a day off work and normally I would head down the bingo hall, but today I have had a wonder round the shops and done some batch cooking for the week ahead,  I have even brought myself a diamond art picture to keep me busy in the evening. I can and will do this x

Well done Claire!!

keeping our minds occupied is very useful in the early days of recovery. You’re doing brilliantly and have the right mindset so keep up the good work.

Em x
