Hi I have recently joined gamcare and looking for ways to stop gambling. I have put all usual steps in like blocks on my bank, used GameStop to block me from joining any new sites, but always a way around it.
I have been gambling since I was around 16 when I worked in shop next door to a bookies, I would never gamble much but only on horses.Â
When I started working in pubs, I started playing fruit machines and that's where it all properly started. I used to spend most of wages playing and then with the rest drink it away as I had no money left.Â
But from then I joined things like jackpot joy, virgin casino. And that was the downfall. It was so easy just to add funds and gamble away.Â
By the the time I was in my 30s I have probably lost thousands on gambling, whether it would be on fruit machines, online slots or at the casino.Â
When I met my wife, I was still gambling and managed to max out my overdraft and credit card. After my wife found out, we put as stop to it all and I was gamble free up until recently when I had started again. Thankfully I haven't spent as much as I did in the past, but something prompted me to do it. Now my marriage is in ruins because of an addiction I need to shake off .
Hi Chris
