Hi,

This is my first time I have joined today as I am in a very dark place with gambling fobts, fruit machines and casino machines.

I keep the shame to myself as I don't wish to involve family but truth known they turn a blind eye. I hate myself have little confidence and go through the same circle which is huge joy lets gamble win go back for more lose try again anything from a few pounds to thousands as you can guess it's lose lose and more lose yet I always go back for more. I have had counciling in the past and guess what I am as bad as ever. The escape from this addiction seems the equivalent of finding the end of the M25 circular motorway. I wish you could self exclude yourself from every single gambling shop in the U.K. But saying that I know of people that have excluded themselves and have sneaked back in without being challanged. I am so desperate to quit this evil but have the willpower of a paving slab what can I do

In my honest opinion you need to evaluate if you really want to stop or not. If you do then will power will be required and lots of help and support is available for you.
If you dont want to then there is not much hope for that.
Good luck.

Hi Erincheese8.

It's not easy to give up an addiction, but is is possible. It's a progesssive journey. A commitment for change and resolution. Believe me, when I say that things could get a whole lot worse.

Leave the gambling behind and strive forward to a better, more fulfilled life.

Erincheese8. Hope you are well.

If you are struggling with addiction PLEASE reach out for help. If you read some diaries on this forum you will realise that there is always hope if you have that willingness to change.
