Hi Bailey,

Firstly thanks for joining I know signing up and actually admitting that you had a problem is sometimes difficult to swallow.....so congrats on doing so.

Like yourself a lot of others including myself would gamble through the night, I have see me set my alarm for random times through the night to or a bet on the Moroccan second division reserve footy match.... Looking back it's just madness.

I am not here to give any advice as I have only stopped gambling for 11 days but this site helps, have you looked into attending a GA meeting? I have been to a few and these really do help, hearing other stories it just sort of works.

Also look though this forum and maybe start a diary? I have done tht and surprisingly enough it helps to get your thought down and other will offer their support and advice.

Please feel free to message me whenever you like. It takes courage to admit you have a problem. It won't fix itself over night.

One day at a time. X

You're in the right place, Bailey.

As Liam says, you've took the hardest step by admitting you've got a problem so keep focused and remember the feeling you had when writing your post if ever you're tempted to slip.

Stay strong, lean on the forum and we'll support you as much as possible

Thank you both so much I had a slip up tonight but managed to pull away a lot earlier then usual and come straight on here maybe I need to just come straight on the forum each night and start reading ? Changing the habit and all that. I find it hardest when I'm angry or sad my emotions seem to take me straight to the Internet to gamble yet if I'm happy I won't go near then so I think that's my trigger ? Well done Liam 11 days is amazing xx

Hi Bailey and welcome , the first days / weeks are always a bit tough but you need to get some blocks in place to make it that much harder to gamble , if your gambling online then betfilter is available at a cost or K9 is free , ultimately it's about you and how much you want to stop gambling because whatever you put In place can be got around and then it boils down to you and a little thing called willpower , just take it one day at a time to start with because every day we don't gamble is s good day . As you've already been told this place is great for support and to record hoe your feeling along the way . I wish you well and will catch up soon . Alan

Morning, Bailey

Like any addiction you will always "crave" this and wen you are annoyed, or your emotions red high you will always fall back to this default setting and instead of dealing with these emotions you will gamble.

I was / am the exact same. But I am learning from attending GM meetings is yes you can come on here and read that will help you, but it's about changing your mindset, so you can deal with these emotions of why your angry etc.

Already I can hear you identifying hat on need to change and the reasons you gamble anyway "high on emotions" your on the right track.

Keep reading on here and like I have mentioned look into attending a GM meeting

Each day at a time x
