Hi new here I really need guidence I ended up in hospital last week as I was found out to be gambling my husband isn't best pleased as I've spent money that I didn't have I took from joint account borrowed from my daughter. I have no excuses but I did it to make me feel better when I was dealing with family issues loosing my mum falling out with my sister being felt I was worthless among other things. I have since coming out of hospital realise I don't want to go there again especially to the A&E as all they did was mock me say horrible things and laugh although I never saw them or could speak I heard every word. With the amount I've gambled I could have put towards a mortgage holiday or just treat myself now and again. I really want my life/marriage back I really do want to change. I have closed my online gambling site prepared to come off joint account that's a start.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. You obviously have had a lot to deal with recently I know from experience having a bereavement can lead to gambling as an escape. You  can't change the past although we would all like to it's time to look forward and seek help but only you change but it won't be easy but you can do it with help and support which I'm sure you will get from your family .Try and stay positive buy only you can do this which I'm sure you will and I wish you all the best and I would keep posting on here to get advice and help,I wish you the best and take care

Yes do try not to be too hard on yourself. Iv'e gambled so many times when i feel worthless or depressed I lose count. Gambling addiction loves it when we feel at a low ebb, for whatever reason.

On a practical point.... register yourself with Gamstop. If you close one account you can always open a different account at a different casino. Gamstop helps to stop this.

All the best

Update I'm now 47day gamble free and I feel great. Husband is a great help and it feels nice having money to buy things for myself and treat us to nice meals out. Onwards and upwards....
