Hi everyone,

we all know we are here for help, share stories, interact and share experiences.

In majority of times we started gambling because someone has introduced us, mainly friends.

intention was always fun, a bit of easy money but then easy money comes with an issue where we think we are very clever and can make loving out of it.

think, even if you made money out of it there is no enjoyment, no life, no emotions, no friends, no family etc...

instead I would happily think all of us here are succesful people, hard working people, intelegent but we just ended up on here by bad luck because of some friend we knew or know had the habit and we got infected then from success and happy daily life we fall into this trap because of the adrenaline.

why could we not do something else instead, example business invest, socialise, travel, meeting friends that do not judge you, treat yourself to good things in life.

I know maybe short of money but if you made it before you can make it again, and if you still have money left start a buisness now.  This will help you keep calm, in control because you will have money coming in just as good as gambling, this time without any anxiety or stress and with no shame.

you can then meet new people, and do a lot, but start now.

my experience is self exclude from all sites, start doing things you like. Start doing some work or activity that pays you. There are plenty options out there to be happy and not even think of gambling.

only intention and reason we gamble is to make money, but we are trying to make money on the places where no one made money and no life wich is a double bad.

start a new life today, think how to make money without gambling, the only time most people gamble is when they need money, more money.

success is there, just need a little mixture with different vibe new friends new people, make it difficult for yourself to be near those sites or locations.

Hi

I agree with everything you are saying and I'm not contradicting especially as I don't know how far into recovery you are. I just wanted to add that for myself and I'm not going to say others, it was never about the money. When I was 12 I moved school and had no friends. Arcades were my safe place, just me and a machine. Over the next 44 years I made hundreds of friends but gambling was my safe place to run away and escape from life. It may have been immaturity, lack of true confidence, stress, family knock backs, relationships or any excuse I could find. I launched an amazing business 26 years ago. I had 15 staff but led a second life to escape the stress and blew away, lost everything. It led me to a very dark place, broken and crawling on here and to GA. I'm not saying you are wrong at all, but for me it was never about the money and you don't want to know how much I lost.

I totally agree with what I think you are saying. Abstinence is really important as it stops you wanting to have a bet. selfexcluson, Gamban, blocks on banking transactions, accountability to someone, not carrying cash etc are an incredibly important foundation but they will stop you gambling, not wanting to. What you are saying about changing your mindset, learning each day to be a better person and enjoy life is recovery

Making money is very hard in this day and age i know more people who have gone bankrupt threw business then being extremely successful alot of people have admitted the reason why they started gambling was to generate a passive income and later got addicted to it for a lot of people that another reason how the addiction gets you as u cant accept the losses occured threw gambling and that becomes a new motive because now u believe u have reason which has far as gambling goes it was never their as an income source so the people who were struggling before starting gambling are now going to be in worse off position finanically only a small minority have become very successful i read an article on guy who started a consultancy business employing 50+ people and his drive to gambling just vanished
