Just joined. Wife's had enough of my online gambling. I've had big wins, most recently being £1300 but as we all know, bit by bit it goes back plus more!  I, sorry, we, have lost thousands! I have to stop! Anyone got any tips?

1. Register with GamStop.

2. Go to Gamblers Anonymous Meetings

3. Self exclude from your local betting shops

4. Wife handles finances and gives you a weekly allowance

5. Be kind to yourself, knowing you've put all these things in place to help yourself.

6. Find a hobbie you enjoy (pref free) and spend time doing that

Good luck mate

There is no better time to stop then NOW.

You must want to help yourself, and believe in your ability to do so, and yes you will.

Accept all the help and support that you can get, and let your abstinence from gambling clock begin.

Have a trigger to remind you at that very moment of weakness to stay away, and you will surely feel so good about it.

The fact of the matter is that 2-3 percent of us, myself included are plagued with this addiction and we need to join the 97 percent, and you can be rest assured that the grass is greener on the other side.

All the very best, believe in yourself, keep at it  and you will do it.

If you bank online using the banks apps then use the feature on the app that stops online gambling transactions being made from your cards. I've used this feature and it does work. Thats another prevention measure you can put in place. Good luck mate.
