Hi everyone, Im new to this site, im 25 been gambling since I was 18 with them years inbetween my world has changed, I was gambling so heavy on machines I would have tunnel vision and not think about anything else, I would sit there for hours and hours just feeding a machine not getting anything back. My emotions would be UP, DOWN, HIGH, LOW, SCARED, HAPPY, SHAKING, SWEATING, CRYING, BOUNCING, BUZZING, TOP OF THE WORLD, I would expreiance all these emothions during the time i was in the bookmakers, and this is just from the machine play. I would then change to horses, dogs, bingo, virtual racing, football, and the bets would get silly, £20-£50 bets I couldnt afford this but I managed to keep up the act in my mind i could.

The countless lies i told to family, friends etc about how i had no money was scary i have changed so much as a person, im scared im going to slip back into that pattern again.

Im currently attending a CBT group which is my first ever group and Im feeling the benifits from it but still scared as at this moment in time Im not working so cash is not at hand and i have used all the loan companies i could have, but as soon as i get a job i need to fill that void and keep busy.

I have started a blog Im unsure if i can post it on here. its helped me in where i have got to today, I was 3 weeks gamble free but i then gambled so i have let myself down but i have been told not to keep thinking about it, move on, easyer said than done.

Hi minimac. Well done for taking steps to stop this horrible addiction in its tracks. 3wks is one hell of an achievement and is proof that you CAN do this. Yes, it's disappointing but call it a blip, don't dwell on it and get back on with the recovery you were doing so well with.

Yes it's easier to stop when we have no money. U need to put plans in place for when u r earning again or have access to money.

Can you opeN a cash card only account that cant b used as a visa or online?. Do u have family or a close friend u can hand over control of your finances to?

Contact your creditors and offer a repayment that u can afford. Once u have plans in place to face up to your debt you will be less likely to chase losses. U won't need to. That money has gone and can only be put right with hard work and giving two fingers to this awful disease.

I wish u well on this journey of ours. Keep posting and let us know how Ur doing x
