I decided after 10 long years that I need to stop gambling and already I feel a million dollars. My big thing was sports betting. The last 800 pounds that I gave away to the bookies was Sunday. This is the second day of not gambling, I know how hard it will be but I can get through it. I’ve self excluded from all accounts online and every bookie in my town. There is so much more to life than just wasting every penny on chasing the dream. Let’s face it every winner just makes us give more back to the bookies in the long run.

Nearly a whole week done! Few temptations but ultimately still haven’t cracked. Big race meetings coming up are the real test but hopeful more than confident that I can beat it
Pleased with getting through the weekend with no bet and the golf was on.. proved to myself I can watch without having a betting interest. Really surprised with resisting temptation on horses. For the first time I am really in the frame of mind that I can do it
This is the 8th day of no gambling feeling so much happier than I was after my last binge on sports betting. If anyone is considering stopping do it, it is a lot easier than you think and it makes you feel really good. Just hope I can keep it up
Big test coming up with aintree starting tomorrow
No gambling still going strong, pay day today just need to keep on going. Hopefully I’ve turned a corner here
Feeling abit tempted today, I feel like I had to write on the column to remind myself how far I have come! For the first time in 3 weeks I feel the urge to gamble but I’m going to be strong! I need to do this as i feel a lot better about life and can a lot more things. I will notice that more down the line when I have money saved and enough to do normal things like holidays days out etc that normal people can afford to do because they don’t gamble!
