Hi.

i am a gambler but haven’t gambled for 9 months.  Which is great.  I need some advice on how I report taking loans and credit cards in my families name.

I cannot believe the turmoil i have have caused.

Has anyone contacted loan companies to admit this and if so how did you go about it and what was the outcome.

Sorry I've not been in this situation I got myself in debt through my own name..all i recommend is asking citizens advice or stepchange debt charity. Also I'm guessing you've told your family.

Hi... Just phone up national debtline and have a chat. I would imagine that it is always the person named on the credit contract that is responsible. I do remember reading a thread where the person themselves reported themselves to the credit companies and said it was them and not the partner that took out the agreement but it made no difference. I think to take it further would involve reporting self to the police and then your start going down the road of criminal proceedings, fraud etc. Get good advice before you do anything
