This is just my opinion and I've said it before (trying not to be self-righteous) but I genuinely believe that dwelling on money lost is not going to help with the recovery process.Horses, FOBTs, dog racing, online roulette - it is gone and as soon as we accept this, listen to the advice of other people etc healing can start. One day at a time my journey continues.

I'm "fortunate" that my debts did not spiral too much but it is still going to be a year before I am debt-free through Step Change........if one day at a time I don't gamble.

Its true gambling is a killer and we should forget our losses and move on but its hard to swallow big losses, its been nearly two weeks gamble free since i lost my savings but still trying to forget that how on earth i let this happen which i never done in my whole life

Its so so hard to accept the moneys gone. My gambling brain always sees a football team and thinks 'well..if i had 2-3 tonne on that id make some ground up and pay some debt faster'....but iv tried this many times and even when ive won large amounts ...it really NEVER MATTERED.

Money was always gambled back again! Plus more and more. We cannot stop...as best we try. Lets stop and put the gambling into the dark

UO I agree with you but by the time I'd stopped in February I think somehow I had already processed the losses and "come to terms with them" in the sense that the money was gone. However, I had to deal with the fact that I would have to come to arrangements with creditors which I have done through Step Change which I would recommend to other people.
