Im a male in my mid 30's with a good job and beautiful wife, great kids and a great house so what has me wasting my time and money in the bookies wasting my money on virtual horses and dogs. The only answer i can come up with is pure greed. From today (Friday 11th july) i will not waste the ridiculous sums of money on the outcome of virtual bets - with your help i believe we can beat this illness.
Needhelp you are totally correct. You can identify the things that mean the most to you and also have identified the problem too. All we need is the will power and self belief to overcome this illness which we are more than capable of. My circumstances are similar to yourself and for the last few years I would agree that I have been incredibly greedy and disloyal. Online seems to be my biggest problem and can't seem to stop no matter what i do! Lying and keeping things from people you love is the hardest thing!

Thanks to you both for your replies .. It means a lot to know that other people support me and probably more importantly understand the journey that lies ahead. I have now gone 24 hours without a bet or going near a bookies. Thankfully i have no debts related to my gambling so i have spent today going through my finances to make sure things stay like that... Every now and again i would stop and shake my head when i think about betting hundreds at a time on a virtual horse or a greyhound to see it get bumped and fall on its a**e.... I feel like my eyes have finally been opened and with the support of everyone i can beat this illness!!!!
