Hi I have just found this forum last night and i must say it is excellent. I have been gambling for about 30 years. Started off with football, dogs and horses and have graduated to the horrible roulette on FOTB I managed to go 202 days in 2014 completely gambling free using my own will power. reading a couple of good books and keeping a diary which i kept on my computer in work. Stupidly i thought i could stop writing the diary and then even worse thought that i could now control my gambling. I have now found out that you can never control your gambling and even a bet on the football ultimately leads to the roulette. I must admit i am really lucky that i seem to have something in me that makes me stop before i lose everything and do damage to my life and family and i know some people are not so lucky but i hate the person i become when i start gambling. I have just payed off a final instalment on a loan and this will be the first time in 15 years i will not have any gambling debts and i dont want to start building any more. I am going to keep a diary on here and also do the challenge 2015 to try and go the whole of 2015 without gambling.

thanks for listening

Welcome to the forum Greggsboy,

You've begun very positively with an intention to commit to the 2015 challenge and to keep a diary here on the forum to help you to stay engaged with your recovery. You will find a lot of peer support here, and many people find that offering support to their peers here on the forum also helps them to feel better and stronger in their own recovery.

Well done for signing up and taking part.

Adam.
