Scared to admit...

Hi,

I really should've done this a while ago but it's reached a point in which I need to admit I have an issue.

I'm not a big gambler and I feel like I'm in control when it comes to betting on football, maybe a fiver or a tenner at the weekend. But it's the slots that really get me.

I had a big win on the horses the other day but yesterday evening I came home after a few drinks and lost about a grand on the slots. Even when I was up I should've withdrawn and left it at that. But I didn't. I kept going till it lost in the hope of getting a big win that never came. I've now realised that I'm addicted to the slots online.

It's been a big year for me, my partner and I had a baby but we've had some issues since which I believe is completely normal. I think maybe I use the slots as an escape. I've been scared to admit it but it's an addiction. With your help and my own willpower I can stop this.

Hi,

Are you able to be open and honest to your partner? It will take a huge amount of weight off your shoulders.

Unfortunately (my own personal experience) you cannot beat this on willpower alone! You need professional support / therapy and you need to close all those doors.

Access to money? Can you hand it over? Put the blocks in place? GamBan? GamStop? Moses? Being honest to yourself and the ones you love will be the biggest leap forward! Don’t think about the money lost, it is gone now, all you can do is move forward.

I have just recently completed a retreat and counselling programme through Gordon Moody, they saved my life! Take a look at their website!

Today I am 233 days gamble free and I have so much help and support around me. You’re not alone in all this, but you’ve got to let people help you, you cannot do it alone.

I wish you all the luck in the world.

Claire x
