I was reading about a heroin addict who managed to turn his life around and became a youtube influencer. He has a few small principles that could be something to think about. He does the following to build self-confidence and self-worth

1. Make your bed every day.

2. Eat regular meals

3. Go to bed and get up at set hours.

Then ad new tasks as you go along so you can start to remove the thoughts of your addiction. This so you can stop counting the days you been gf because that I think could be reminding your brain of what you are missing and if we can get rid of that it would be a good step in the right direction.

Yes, small steps and trying to build on those incrementally each day/week/month is a good start.  I'm ensuring that I log into my help sites every day, chatting with someone on the phone or online, telling myself that the demon that ate away at my life is still in me but that I can stop myself from hearing it.
