Stealing

Hi, I'm 26 and have been a gambler all my adult life, lost thousand my parents at one point and last week my girlfriend and little girl...I now am more determined than ever to stop and I guess you don't realise till you've lost everything it's time to stop....

To answer yes, it's perfectly natural for your son to do this...I have stolen in the past that ashamed me, something I would never do in the light of day the same as you son I imagine but when you are in the process of severe gambling you do things that are uncrontolBle. You no the consequences no matter how bad they are, but you still continue...it's a very had circle to get out of but the good news is you can get out of it....

You need to understand that gambling isn't a minor problem it's as serious if not more than drugs and alcohol...you need to read up and understand about the thought process of a gambler so you can put yourself in his shoes and see it from his point of view....show your emotions and let home no what it is doing to you...you need to get him to be completely honest as you will be with him and ask him why he's doing it...find out exactly how much debt he's in and you won't Judge him or hate him...cut off all his money supplies and you can get his money and give it back to him and get him to agree to professional help start with doctor you go with him if want.....you are there to help him he needs you, but you must understand what he's goin through and how evil this addiction is but he can do it like I'm doing from now..

Thank You Rod, good to hear your feedback. We have been reading up, going for counselling to help our son, it's just he keeps having these set backs even when he knows the consequences of gambling and taking money from his family make him feel bad. Is there ever freedom from all of this?
